My clients wanted a gray slat wall.

And I get it… on paper, it seems like the safe choice. Neutral, modern, easy. But gray on gray on gray will flatten everything. No depth, no warmth, no moment.

That beautiful bed would disappear into it. The room would feel cold instead of layered. There was some pushback but then they did the thing that makes all the difference…

They trusted me to do what they hired me to do.

Fast forward to this.

The warmth of the wood, the contrast against the upholstery, the way the lighting hits those slats at night… it’s not just a wall anymore. It’s the entire mood of the room.

This is your reminder: hiring a designer isn’t about playing it safe. It’s about letting someone see what you can’t see yet.

Let me tell you something… pillows really used to humble me.

When I first started in interior design, I’d grab a few “cute” pillows, throw them together, step back… and it was giving confused. No cohesion. No story. Just vibes fighting for their life.

What I didn’t understand was it didn't matter if it was pretty on its own, it's about how well they play together. Texture, scale, pattern, color, balance. It’s a whole conversation.

1. This one is your anchor. Rich color, strong presence, instantly pulls you in. This is what sets the tone for everything else.
2. Structure meets personality. The geometric keeps it grounded while the multicolor moment brings the energy. Nothing is doing too much, but nothing is boring either.
3. Texture, texture, texture. This is that “you don’t even have to think about it, it just feels good” combo. Soft, layered, inviting.
4. Pattern play done right. You’ve got movement, contrast, and just enough neutral to keep it from going left. The boucle ball is the wildcard… every good mix needs one.
5. Elevated drama. Tight palette, mixed textures, a little edge. This is how you make bold feel expensive instead of chaotic.

Mood Board Monday and this one is for the girls who want their office to feel less “corporate cubicle” and more “main character with great taste.” Warm tones, texture, drama, and a mural moment that makes the whole room feel elevated without trying too hard. Because if you’re spending hours in a space, it should inspire you, not drain you. Could you get work done here, or would you just be staring at the walls like me?

Moodboard Monday

This is what happens when warmth meets intention.

Rich cognac leather, soft creamy boucle, deep espresso tones, and touches of brass come together in a way that feels grounded but still elevated. Nothing here is accidental. Every piece has weight, texture, and presence.

And that artwork? It doesn’t just complete the room, it defines it. When you anchor a space with something that strong, everything else gets to fall into place around it.

This is the kind of living room that feels styled but still lived in. Polished, but not trying too hard.

Tell me… is the leather sofa the star here, or is it the art for you?

Moodboard Monday
A home office should feel inspiring, not sterile.
Warm terracotta, soft desert tones, rich cognac leather, and touches of brass come together to create a space that feels creative, grounded, and full of personality. Add in statement art and a few organic textures and suddenly work doesn’t feel like work.

This is the kind of office where ideas flow, coffee stays hot, and you actually want to sit down and get things done.

Beautiful spaces make better days.

Would this setup make you more productive, or would you just sit there admiring the room instead of working?

Moodboard Monday
A bedroom should feel like a retreat. The kind of space that instantly tells your brain it’s time to slow down.

This palette leans into rich plum, deep teal, warm neutrals, and layered pattern to create something that feels both calming and sophisticated. The mix of textures keeps it interesting, while the softer tones keep it restful.

And those sculptural chairs at the foot of the bed? Perfect for a quiet morning coffee, a late night conversation, or that moment when you’re just sitting there pretending you’re not about to check your email again.

Your bedroom should feel like your personal escape. Not just another room in the house.

The question is are you actually sitting in those chairs, or are they becoming the place where clothes mysteriously pile up?

Moodboard Monday
This bedroom feels like stepping into a quiet garden retreat.

Deep forest greens, soft ivory, and touches of berry create a palette that’s rich but still calming. The layered florals bring in a sense of movement and softness, while the darker tones ground the space and give it depth.

I love bedrooms that feel a little moody but still peaceful. When you mix botanical patterns with natural textures like this, the whole room starts to feel relaxed, cozy, and slightly romantic.

Exactly the kind of space that makes you want to linger a little longer in the morning.

Are you drawn to darker, moodier bedrooms like this, or do you prefer light and bright spaces for sleeping?

Moodboard Monday
This room is proof that neutrals don’t have to be boring.
Chocolate, camel, cream, and brass come together in a palette that feels rich, tailored, and quietly dramatic. Then the pattern steps in. A little zebra, a little texture, a little movement. Just enough to wake the whole room up without overpowering it.

The marble table anchors everything, giving the space weight and sophistication, while the sculptural lighting keeps it feeling modern.

A space like this doesn’t rely on color to make a statement. It lets texture, pattern, and materials.

Hot take… animal print is basically a neutral. Agree or disagree?
