Miryam Monasterios

She studied drawing and painting at the School of Visual Arts "Rafael Monasterios" and graduated as Graphic Designer. Miryam painted in watercolor, acrylic and on silk. In 1992, she first entered in the cold paint on glass wich she learned from her mother. In 1996, she attended the workshops of stained glass organized by the Museum of Contemporary Art "Mario Abreu" in Maracay. That same year, she

attended at Aruba's workshops of glassfused dictated by the Dutch artists Mieke Grooten and Frank van der Ham, this latter, a world authority in molten glass. She studied advanced fusion, taught at the workshops of the Museum of Contemporary Art "Sofia Imber" in Caracas (MACSI) from the master of glass, Leonel Valdespino. Miryam has also participated at workshops of Terrafuse Foundation in Aruba in the process of torch glass and she has specialized in sculptural casting processes from the Dutch glass artist JanHein van Stiphout. She has been invited to perform numerous exhibitions in Curaçao, Aruba, Panama, Dominican Republic and Venezuela. She was also during the years 2001 and 2002, the exclusive artist for the Hyatt Resort & Casino in Aruba with the exhibition of her works and a collection of her decorative Seascapes have their place in 50 suites at the Radisson Aruba Resort & Casino. Miryam is the senior designer of the company Ara Pacis, N.V., for the production of glass products to meet specific orders from hotels, institutions and corporates. In the architectural area, she has worked mainly in the designing area for hotel’s interiors and remodelling thereof.
