Everything *is* better crocheted 😉 Per ‘s request, I made a little crochet ice cream cone to fit their display🍦I was worried it was going to be too bulky with the blanket yarn, but I think it turned out well!

The pattern is by me and took ~4 hours to crochet… although a decent chunk of that time was spent figuring out the measurements, undoing, and remaking it to fit the display. I didn’t stuff it as fully as usual because I was worried it wouldn’t fit. But it did! And I love the baby blanket in pitter patter for this - it’s so soft, the pastels are so lovely, and they remind me of 🌈 rainbow sherbet (my favorite ice cream flavor as a child) and happiness 💕

Should I make another crochet friend for the other side / to match the other cone? Or let me know if you’d be interested in a pattern 😊

Checked out a new place in Woodland called .kaii.thai.cuisine this weekend and it was delicious! We tried their panang curry (6), pad see ew (7), and ’s speciality - a coconut crepe cake (4,5) that was delicious 😋 we ended up getting it to go because we were getting full, but it was still packaged so prettily so I had to take a picture or two 😊 you’ll have to forgive the non Instagram worthy photos of the food in the restaurant - they were originally only going to be for my junk journal 😅

We met the owner and had a lovely time chatting with her. She told us the place’s name was based on her childhood nickname (Kai) which means chicken - that’s why all the decor is chicken themed 🐓 Isn’t the chicken pen holder (8) adorable?

It inspired me to crochet more of these chickens which always sold out super quickly at the … Maybe I’ll make a farm animal themed display for Sweet and Shavery after the ocean/water themed one sells out 🤞

If I had to describe summer with a color, it would be yellow. The county roads between Davis and Woodland are often filled with fields of tall sunflowers reaching towards the sun. And so, to me, sunflowers are a promise of summer - a reminder to be strong, stand tall, and face the sun 🌻

This sunflower keychain was a gift to a friend (it’s their favorite flower) and I hope it brings a little more happiness, warmth, and positivity into their life 😊

It’s a relatively simple pattern by and can be easily modded into a bag charm instead! I didn’t think of it at the time, but you can chain ~60 (or double the length of how far down you’d like the sunflower to dangle + enough space to fit the sunflower through the hoop - note the chain will be connected and folded in half) in green yarn, follow the leaf pattern, and connect it to the sunflower instead of using a keychain ring and clasp.

I usually prefer bernat velvet, but I think this project looks better with and needs the structure of an acrylic type yarn. You can pass over the final product with a lighter to clean up the stray fuzz and make it look more polished… just make sure not to put the flame in one place for too long.

And no, isn’t a sponsor, but their tote bags are perfect for grocery runs or taking my crochet projects to craft meet ups and other outings 😅

Hi there! I’m Shannon and I enjoy crocheting cute things 😊 You may have met me at the in the past and I’m excited to share that there’s now a little display of my crochet friends at Sweet and Shavery. It’s filled with ocean/water friends for now - just in time for summer 😉 You can stop by and adopt a crochet friend or pick up some cute stickers for your water bottle while escaping the heat and enjoying a sweet treat!

It’s a place I used to frequent a lot (now I rarely leave my house aha) and the owners are always so nice! This isn’t sponsored, but I would highly recommend their Italian ice parfaits… especially on a hot summer day in Davis. My go to is the strawberry mango Italian ice with custard 🍓🥭🍦Although I recently tried their crepes and those are also pretty good 👀

Social media is hard to keep up with, so my Instagram is pretty out of date, but I do have a lot of cute projects I hope to share with you all soon so please stay tuned 😊 and thank you to everyone who has supported me in the past and/or is reading through this now 💛

Fun facts:
- Zahra means blossom
- Did you know penguins bring their mates pebbles?
- Crocheting takes way more time and effort than it seems 😭
- Why, yes, I did make some of those stickers, thank you for noticing 😂
