Some up-to-the-minute examples of the greens - & the wallpaper - comeback. And, Toile is also regaining popularity (which I've always loved😊)! My mom used to say what goes around comes around. Maybe a bit differently than before, but things - and styles - always seem to find their way back!

If you had to choose one of the four wallpapers in my examples, which one would you pick? How do YOU feel about green?!

I was just talking to a potential client about her home. To date, she has decorated most of her home in neutrals; greys, whites, blacks, little bit of beige. She asked me if it's possible to infuse some color into her style, without going too overboard. My answer? YES! Her response? How about green?

Yep, green is making a comeback!😀❤

Are you ready to make your home a place where others will be GREEN with envy?! According to HGTV color experts & a panel of the nation's top Interior Designers, look for GREEN to be a leading color trend for 2022. It's natural, it brings the outdoors in, & overall, is soothing & inviting.

Choose greens that pick up some grey tones, whether dark or light. Eucalyptus is a great gauge for a warm, peaceful green. Watch for tiles, wallpapers & other accents to follow the trend.

Oh, & did I mention how great green looks with black?! IT DOES!!!

WOW! Thanks SO MUCH to all of you who took the time to view my Home Office renovation, who are following me, who liked my post, and have sent me SO many PM's with such positive comments! I appreciate every single one of you more than I can say!🥰

That said, one of the most frequent comments I received came in the form of a question ... what are the exact colors you used?! Many of you mistook the grey for black. I think black would have looked awesome, but felt that a very deep, dark grey was less of a harsh contrast to the lighter colors used throughout the room.

I used Sherwin-Williams paint, purchased from my client's local Acehardware. The feature wall is Graphic Charcoal -6. The other walls are Silver Ash GR-W11, which I matched the desk color exactly for a beautiful, monochromatic effect. I'm sure if you take these names and numbers to your local paint store or HomeDepot or Lowe's Home Improvement, they will be able to match it. I personally try to use Ace when I can, as they are a small business - and I believe they need my business more than the big box stores!

You'll notice a couple other photos. PLEASE TAKE NOTE! I cannot stress enough the importance of buying sample paints (about $4-$8 depending on where you go) and testing them before you make a decision. You'll want to see your paint selection(s) in the room your renovating. You'll have the ability to make your decision in the proper lighting, next to adjoining rooms, with other pieces you'll be including, etc. Store lighting is NOT the way to make such an important choice!!!

Pretty in PINK ... & gold ... & greys!!!🌸

It's true - great things come to those who wait! Thank God for patient clients!

At long last, my executive attorney's new home office is complete ... other than filled picture frames. My client recently had a photo shoot of her two ADORABLE kids (in greys & pinks, of course!😉), so as soon as she receives the proofs, picture frames on the walls & throughout the room will be filled with a mixture of colored & black/white family photos.

There are so many things I love about this office. First & foremost, it's a total reflection of my client's personality. She loves pink, she loves gold, she now REALLY loves grey! She loves "furry" things. She loves, LOVES her plexiglass wall calendar! SHE LOVES HER HOME OFFICE! YAY!💟

I've included a couple of before shots so you can get the magnitude of the transformation. I'd love to hear your feedback ... the custom wainscoted wall and window seat (thank you, Fred Brandau!), the "funky" mirrors that give the room a bit of a hipster, modern feel along with the feature artwork, my Homegoods "finds" boucle footstool & "she designed a life she loved" frame piece ($12.99!) for the center of her family pics, all of the pink pillows, the phenomenal desk, the awesome carpet - oh, & the sputnik light fixture, etc., etc.

I've also just finished a phenomenal mid-century modern/farmhouse bathroom I'll show you soon!

But for now, it's time for a breath or two & the holidays... then onto 2022 - FINALLY updating my way-too-outdated website & then new clients I hope to have the privilege of crossing paths & partnering with next year!

One last thing ... excerpt from the text I received from my client this morning:

"Hi Lisa! I meant to tell you last night how much I love the office and our entire house and it's all because of your hard work ..." Thank you, Alana Marie for allowing me to make the place you work the place you love!

Good things come to those who wait! At long last, our beautiful desk has arrived for our Home Office ... & that it is, BEAUTIFUL! This desk looks amazing in front of our paneled feature wall. Notice the inlaid medium gray leather, the bead board ... & don't you just LOVE the decorative shelves on the FRONT of the desk??? Oh, what I will do with those!

So, now we can move forward with a vengeance. New chair? Chosen and being ordered today (in pink!). Artwork and wall décor? Will be on its way shortly. Window seat cushion? Shipped today! Ordering white monitors and computer gear to better flow with the space.

Lots still to do before this space is "executive perfect" for my amazing client. Renovation is not for the impatient, to be sure! But I have to say it - I LOVE EVERY SECOND OF IT!!!

We will hopefully be wrapped up within a few weeks. When we're done, we will have a gorgeous office with a bit of a feminine flavor ... I'll keep you updated!

We're still a bit messy, but wanted to speak to the MAJOR GAME-CHANGER wood texture makes to a space! I am IN LOVE with this feature wall and window seat - courtesy of my favorite carpenter craftsman, Fred Brandau! I personally went to the millwork company, chose every piece of moulding we would be using, and together we laid out what the wall would become - this beautiful work of art! The colors - Behr Graphic Charcoal on the feature wall, white to match existing trim on the window seat, and Behr Silver Ash on the remaining walls, which is an exact match to the desk we will be putting in the space!

The light fixture - a Sputnik - is amazing! Purchased from Lamps Plus. The carpet, which was being installed as I took the photos, replicates a high-end, large, monochromatic stencil, which I am insanely in love with (carpet has come a LONG way!).

At the end of the day, which will probably be in about a month, this Home Office is going to be spectacular!

The Home Office. These are the before photos from one of my current projects. My client is an executive - and attorney - who is now permanently working from home and needs a new work space. She's awesome - strong, independent, smart as they come, a great lawyer, wife and mom to two of the cutest little things you'll ever meet ... again, she's great! Oh, and she LOVES the "somethin-somethin" - that's what I call it😉 - we've already added to other rooms in their home (I have previously posted other spaces in this renovation)!

My client also has a feminine style she likes incorporated into their home and this room is ALL HERS! So, I needed to make sure I included her personality into this executive design. It's the first room you see when you walk into their Foyer, so I wanted to give it a WOW. Set the tone for the rest of the home!

This renovation is still a work in progress. I thought I'd start with the some before pics. I will share where we are so far (we're getting there!) and my plans for the remainder of the space soon! It is coming along a bit slower than we'd like (man, the delays on product are frustrating!) - but worth the wait - it's going to be PHENOMENAL!!!

Where’s Waldo?! Heck, where’s LISA?!?! I apologize for going so silent in recent weeks… I’ve been BUSY!!! Took some time this summer to travel, see my kids , continue to collaborate with my clients, etc, etc, & BAM - summer is OVER!

Can I just say it?!? I LOVE being in my own business, being my own boss, managing my own schedule, doing what I GET to do for a living! I’m beyond blessed!!!

I’m at a clients home today continuing progress on their soon-to-be exquisite home office!

Carpet’s going in, which would normally mean we are nearing completion. Unfortunately, our desk is delayed by over a month. Aahhh … the new normal. Not enjoying it but certainly having to deal with it!

I’ll post some “progress shots”, but won’t be able to show the final progress until mid-November. Promise … it will be worth the wait!!!❤️😉❤️
