Does anyone know why this stitch is called Turkey Work? Asking for a friend… anyways, I love this little stitch and have used it for very specific reasons in my patterns. First to portray the fuzzy anemone flowers at Mount Rainier, and now to make a few of these butterflies fuzzy! It’s a fun stitch and definitely requires trusting the process when you cut all the little loops. If you’d like to see a turkey work tutorial on here, leave a comment to let me know!

Putting the finishing touches on a one of my new designs this evening! This piece will be an advanced embroidery pattern to add to my growing collection of nature based patterns that celebrates the lgbtq+ community! Thanks for all the kit orders this past week! So glad my little bear pattern can bring folks so much joy! If you are interested in trying hand embroidery, check out my Etsy Shop! I have full embroidery kits as well as PDF patterns depicting a wide variety of landscape, wildlife, and wildflower themes! I create all my designs by hand, design all of the print materials in photoshop and procreate, assemble the patterns in Canva templates that I built for myself, and assemble the final kits at home, this is truly a home grown small business, thanks for all your support!
