The store is for sale! (Sale portfolio on website. Link in bio and QR code at the end of this slideshow.)
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You may know that the store was supposed to list for sale in Dec 2023. The night before signing w/ my broker, my landlady was supposed to provide info for the sale portfolio. Instead, she kicked me out. Over 5 years of hard-work were ripped from my hands. My world crumbled.

The next few months were absolute hell. Skipping to the hopeful part, I found a sublease across the street at 744 Santa Fe Dr. GLG reopened in March 2024.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
54 weeks after that gut wrenching call, GLG is for sale once again. There are multiple reasons, which you can read about in the sale portfolio on the website. A large one is b/c I was great at creating and building a recognizable and well-known brand and beloved community asset. But I’m bad at the next phase - growth. Last year I was putting in as much effort as I had the 5 previous years but my wheels were spinning in place. I was exhausted. Now that GLG once again has a strong foundation at the new location, someone else needs to take over and make sure that it continues to thrive.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The greatest thing I learned this last year is that sometimes, something good has to break in order to build something great. Are you the builder of that future?

GLG celebrates the joy of color and the neighborhood’s Chicano history w/ a distinctive Mexican aesthetic that creates a unique and memorable shopping experience. GLG currently specializes in houseplants, Mexican pottery and decor, and local art. But GLG is a personality brand before it is a retail store, and it is well-positioned for innovation, including expansion into new markets and completely different industries.
