Hello, friends! I have a big favor to ask - if anyone has extra 4x6, 5x7, or 8x10 frames, would you be willing to donate? I am hosting a fundraiser at The Little Book in Highland Park next Wed the 20th, 4-7 in benefit of Spock's Sanctuary, who recently had a fire that displaced 150 of their animals. I have prints and my printer, but am on a budget, so any donations would be appreciated as all proceeds are going back to them! Let me know as I can come get frames depending where you're at!

Join us for April’s First Friday at Mainframe Studios - a vibrant evening celebrating art, creativity, and community!

Featuring CommUNITY juried by Cody Hickok an exhibition highlighting work of LGBTQIA+ artists and allies, curated by celebrating visibility, solidarity, and connection. In a time marked by division, CommUNITY elevates art as a way to see one another more fully and affirm our shared humanity. 

Guests can enjoy open studios, a special performance by the Des Moines Gay Men’s Chorus, and interactive art activities and delicious food and beverage options.

First Friday events at Mainframe Studios are family-friendly, free, and open to the public. Expanded overflow parking and a complimentary shuttle make getting here easy.

Cody Hickok (he/they) is a printmaker and multimedia artist from Iowa. Using linework and dramatic contrast, he creates stirring hand-pulled prints. He earned his BA in Drawing from Drake University in 2022, also studying Printmaking and Writing. Cody has shown work in various midwest shows, received several juried awards, participated in the first Iowa Artist Career Accelerator program, and has work published in Monochromica 003 journal. His works explore themes of life, death and moments in time, and his commissioned work captures the essence of beloved pets. Come by Cody’s studio, Studio Sage DSM, #402 in Mainframe Studios.

I'm partaking in a Meet the Maker March challenge, which gives some behind the scenes context to the artist - myself!
My name is Mallory, I also go by Izzy, and I am a creator based in DSM, IA! I am LGBTQIA+, happily married to my partner, and have a lovely void kitty named Nova.
I have TOO many interests, which is really evident in my posting - I like to draw, paint, sculpt, and do photography - any creative concept I can get my hands on!
I'm looking to do more collaborations with other artists this year as well as hone in my passions a bit.
Can't wait to post more in 2026!

This Saturday is a great chance to say hi this weekend, 10/11 - I'll be at the Gabriel House for the first time for their Spellbound Halloween event outside in a tent, and at The Fremont for their Art of Horror gallery night! I'll have some cool new merch and art pieces, come have a spooky day with me! 💕✨️
