My current palette of colors 💜🩷🧡😍
I blend wisps of wool together in very small amounts using a hand carder to get the exact shade I need. The subtlety in the final piece of felt is worth it!

Wow thanks for an awesome night last week at Mainframe Studios First Friday! Great food (we had tamales, homemade ice cream, and took home a cinnamon roll for the next morning 🤤), great conversations, and a few pieces of original art even found new homes. 🥰 Oh and the sky as we left the building!! 🧡🩷💜

If you stopped by my studio, you probably saw the piece I had on display that was in process! Check out a few pics as I built up layers of wool and the progression from fluff to felt. I got a little more work done over the weekend, and framing is next week!

I’ve been making good progress on new work for art festivals this summer. Excited to share more soon. Just a couple more weeks until Des Moines Arts Festival!! 🤩😎

Such a fun night last night at the Preview Celebration for the Des Moines Arts Festival! The commemorative poster was revealed… the artwork is beautiful and the artists who created it, Lou Ann Townsend and Mary Filapek, are the nicest ever.

The design for this year’s festival branding is the coolest, made by NOW Designs & Screenprinting

Sometimes we do what we gotta do…. Last weekend that meant setting up my art festival tent in my backyard! (I’m sure my neighbors were verrry curious as to what was going on) 😆

I have a new body of work to exhibit at art festivals, and I needed a new booth shot showing it all! (For Tracy, 😉 a booth shot is a pic of all your work inside your art fest tent to submit with your applications to art festivals. Jurors want to see the scale of your artwork, a cohesive body of work, and a professional display.)

I took advantage of the beautiful weather and a willing husband to help, and we got it set up, photographed, and taken down within the afternoon. 😮‍💨

I was also excited to try out my latest investment of two new panels, creating a slightly different configuration than I’ve used before at art festivals. I loved the result and can’t wait for my first event of the year to use it for real! 🔜 Des Moines Arts Festival June 26-28!!

I was on TV!! 😄 I had a great time chatting with Megan Reuther on Hello Iowa today about my felted fine art! I shared a bit about my inspiration and process, and my excitement about exhibiting at the Des Moines Arts Festival in June.

I’m so excited to share that I’ll be exhibiting my felted fine art at the Des Moines Arts Festival this June!! I’m beyond honored to have been invited by the jury to show my work among so many talented artists from around the country.
