This isn’t even a fraction of the effort that goes into getting a rodeo queen ready. Countless hours riding, studying rodeo rules and equine knowledge, modeling lessons, speech coaches, and grooming the horse for the contest.
And let’s not forget planning the outfits. The perfectly matched boots, belts, pants and shirt. A white cowboy hat to be kept in pristine condition. More matching boots for the dress. And everything must be pressed or starched and then transported to the pageant.
This takes months and months of preparing and all for one competition. But the life lessons, the character building and the confidence is worth all of the effort. And the rodeo queen community who has coached and rallied around Whitley has made this adventure even more sweeter. We could have never done it without everyone that has supported Whitley.
And I feel like I need to give a shout out to all rodeo queen moms, because my goodness, we have a lot of blood, sweat, and tears invested into this gig as well. But watching my daughter give it all she’s got on the stage and on the horse, is everything.
