Candles for Life

Candles for Life Candles for Life is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization to help residents of Maverick County who have active cancer.

MISSION STATEMENT:

The mission of Candles for Life is to strengthen and support active cancer patients who reside in Maverick County. Cancer victims with extended expenses and needs for counselling will be serviced by this organization. As a local organization, Candles for Life will collaborate with community leaders to raise funds to help active cancer patients who are not covered by previous federal, state, or private means. All funds are administered in Maverick County.

Today is World Cancer Day🎗️

A day to stand with those impacted by cancer, support our loved ones, and take steps to protect our own health. Showing up for one another and staying proactive with screenings and preventive care can make a meaningful difference.

Regular checkups and early detection help find cancer sooner, when treatment is often more effective. Our community has local programs available through Maverick County Hospital District and United Medical Centers - Eagle Pass that offer screening, prevention, and support services.

Un día para apoyar a las personas impactadas por el cáncer, acompañar a nuestros seres queridos y tomar pasos para cuidar nuestra propia salud. Estar presentes y mantenernos al día con exámenes de detección y prevención puede marcar una gran diferencia.

Los chequeos regulares y la detección temprana ayudan a encontrar el cáncer a tiempo, cuando el tratamiento suele ser más efectivo. Nuestra comunidad cuenta con programas locales a través de MCHD y UMC que ofrecen servicios de detección, prevención y apoyo.
