Dear Wichita Falls Community,
REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN FOR PLAYERS AND COACHES!
We’re moving forward with a full-community draft for the North Texas Youth Football League in Wichita Falls—and here’s why it’s the right call.
Every player will be redistributed onto brand-new teams, deliberately mixing kids from every neighborhood, school, and background across our city. Sure, some will end up on the same squad depending on who drafts who—but that’s the beauty of it. Even those familiar faces will be surrounded by new ones they’ve never played with, forcing everyone to step up, adapt, and connect. No more automatic “us vs. them”—just real teamwork built from the ground up.
That diversity isn’t just good for the league; it’s good for all of Wichita Falls. When these kids run into each other out in the community—at parks, ballgames, or just around town—they won’t see rivals. They’ll see teammates. People they’ve blocked for, celebrated with, and trusted under pressure. That early bond cuts through cliques, builds empathy, and turns strangers into allies before high school even starts.
By varsity—whether it’s the Legacy Leopards, the Memorial Mavericks, or any other program—our players won’t start from zero. They’ll already know each other’s strengths, quirks, and work ethic. No lingering grudges—just chemistry that’s been tested on the field.
This draft isn’t random. It’s deliberate. It’s how we grow stronger together—on the field, in our schools, and across every corner of Wichita Falls.
