In the past I made a Unity Heart for a wedding in which the tail was braided signifying the joining of two. Here is a Unity Cross. I am proud of this because I was given an idea and was able to create something that others will enjoy.

Hearts headed to Texas…

I have had a hard time sharing the story of how these hearts have come into being because the story isn’t about me but about how the Lord works within me.

I was working on quilt tops but kept thinking about the Domer family and their tragic loss of their sweet Oaklynn Rae, their 3 year old daughter.

Then suddenly I had an inspiration to make a braided heart into a pin. I asked my husband when he came home from a roping if he thought that it would be appropriate to send a couple of hearts to Ryan and Kelsie. He told me to ask Joey Williams that knew Kelsie. She said a definite yes. I sent quite a few to be shared with breakaway ropers.

Fast forward to this summer and I get to meet Jordan Jo Hollabaugh, breakaway roper and Cowgirl Armor creator, and she gives me 2 caps for donating the hearts to their breakaway world.

Then Shane and I introduced ourselves to Ty McClary, from Cowboy Channel, who was announcing at the Superior Livestock sale. I shared that I was the one that made the hearts. He asked for 10. So they are on their way south.

This was my dad’s brand. I remember the story of how he acquired this brand. The people he purchased it from were retired from ranching yet so happy that is was going to be used that they sold it for very little.
