From sand and seashells to the gallery wall — Trojan is now part of Altered States: Transformation in Art at the Mosesian Center for the Arts in Watertown, MA

Inspired by the legend of the Trojan Horse, this sculptural relief explores transformation through reclaimed coastal materials, turning fragile fragments gathered from the shoreline into an enduring work of art.

Honored to exhibit alongside so many incredible artists in this powerful group show.

When the world shut down, the beach became our escape.

What started as simple days collecting shells and creating sand sculptures with my daughter slowly transformed into my life’s work.

Today, I create wildlife sculptures made from shells, sand, and other coastal materials inspired by those memories at the beach.

From beach inspired artwork to gallery exhibitions and coastal art workshops, every piece begins with materials shaped by the ocean.

Sometimes healing leads you somewhere unexpected. 🤍

A creature built for patience… recreated from the ocean itself. 🐢

Created from hand-collected seashells and sculpted sand, this tortoise relief honors the quiet resilience of one of nature’s oldest survivors.

Every shell became a brushstroke before the sculpture underwent my hardening process, transforming fragile beach materials into lasting wall art.

Happy World Tortoise Day.

Happy International Mermaid Day!
Throwback to almost 6 years ago when I started creating shell sculptures at Robert Moses Beach. This was definitely one of the fun ones, might have to recreate it again this summer. 🐚 💙

Always happy to see beautiful shell art created with my Qwick Craft self hardening air dry sand. My sand was the base for a recent Girl Scouts project and they couldn’t be more creative with it. Head over to if you are so inclined to head a group project or start one of your own. No mess, glue, resin or tape, just push the seashells into the sand and wait two days. Shell art made easy 😉 🐚 ❤️

Trojan ~ 2026
Sand & Seashell Sculpture

This work began as a tribute to the Year of the Horse, but it ultimately became a reflection of our present moment. In 2026, reality feels increasingly malleable—truth shifts with narrative, and what we are presented with often obscures what lies beneath.
