HELP SUPPORT TYLEIGH SKYE 💗
Tyleigh Skye is a sweet 9-year-old from Geneva, Alabama, who loves playing softball and basketball. Earlier this year, Tyleigh began experiencing pain in her left leg. What was initially thought to be growing pains or an injury from sports continued to worsen. By June, she was limping constantly and experiencing severe pain.
On July 7, 2026, an X-ray at Southern Bone & Joint revealed a tumor in her left leg. Tyleigh was quickly referred to Children’s of Alabama in Birmingham, where she underwent extensive testing, including MRIs, CT and PET scans, X-rays, heart and hearing tests, and a biopsy.
On July 17, her family received the devastating diagnosis: Tyleigh has osteosarcoma, a form of bone cancer, in her left tibia.
Tyleigh began an aggressive 33+ week I chemotherapy treatment plan on July 24. After approximately 10 weeks of chemotherapy, doctors will evaluate how the tumor is responding.
If chemotherapy is successful, Tyleigh is expected to undergo a major surgery around October 7 to remove the cancerous bone and reconstruct her leg using her right fibula. The surgery could take 12–15 hours and will be followed by another 20–23 weeks of chemotherapy and more than a year of recovery.
If chemotherapy is not successful, doctors may have to amputate Tyleigh’s left leg below the knee.
Through all of this, Tyleigh is fighting hard and dreaming of the day she can get back to the sports she loves. 💗
Her parents own a food truck, which is their only source of income. They have been unable to work for more than two months while spending 4–7 days each week at Children’s of Alabama with Tyleigh and traveling back and forth for her treatment.
