was fun and expressed my creativity. The children grew and I was looking for a way to become more connected to my craft so I took a dyeing class. The colors, the process, the individuality of each skein---I was hooked. With the encouragement of my great knitting friends, an awesome local yarn shop, my children, and my fantastic right hand man of 24 years, MooRoo Yarn was born. Each skein is hand dyed and has individual characteristics. Yarn takes up color based on its' content. Wet yarn, dry yarn, twisted yarn and temperature all effect the color you achieve. We love these differences. When you buy one of our skeins you are truly getting something that we are proud to produce and we hope you love it. - kelly

Just dropped off the final dye batches to Lift Bridge yarns. It is bittersweet! Dawn and Jessie have some fun things planned for November! Our 5th year anniversary color we made for them is called The Fifth Element! But no spoilers here.
While I was there had to pick up some other beauties from other local dyers! Some sock and DK from Renee . A sock set from .hustle.fiber.co and a lovely DK skein from Always have room for more accessories as well and a heart to support The CFO and I went up to Northern Canada for some hiking and roller skiing. One of the reasons we need to close is so I can have more energy to do more of this! We hope you enjoy our last batch and we thank you for all your support over the years!!

Hello everyone! I am looking forward to the cooler weather and always get a burst of knitting mojo this time of the year! We wanted to let everyone know that I have decided to put MooRoo into retirement at the end of the year. I continue to struggle with heart failure. My energy level is not what I would like it to be and I need to prioritize where I am spending it. I have had to cut down on my day job hours as well. With the Moo and the Roo all grown and moved out, my easy access to labor has flown the coop. They would help whenever I asked but I would like them to live their lives and are so fortunate that they live close to us. We will have a run of some of our most popular colors - Almost Midnight, Navy Dream, Love the Gray, Hint, Teal whisper available at Liftbridge Yarns and a custom color to celebrate 5th year anniversary!!
We are taking some special orders through Liftbridge yarns before we close up shop. But time is of the essence to get those in.
We want to thank everyone for their support over the years. I want to thank my medical team for keeping me in the game this long! (Looking at you Lara!). And to Patti- thanks for the opportunity and the push into the business. And especially want to thank the Moo and Roo and the CEO for making this dream of being an artist come true.

Many knitters have a go to hat they like to knit. Mine is the Coffee Talk Togue by Tracie Millar. I am about to start my 5th. This hat is an easy knit with great directions and easy to modify. I love mine with some mohair. My next one is going to be in our Small Business Saturday colorway for 2023 available at . They have a few skeins left and the mohair is available as well! Another great option would be my friend Renee's yarn. You might know her as . She does a fantastic speckle and mohair as well. Does it count double that I am watching the latest episode of the ? I am not well enough to have my own booth this year but Dawn and Jessie from are nice enough to have my yarn in their booth and selling it. The CFO and the Roo helped me dye up a custom color for the event along with some restock on favorites.
I am hoping on stopping in at the event and seeing my friends and other indie dyers and my favorite shepardesses!

My Yuletide cast on for the . New hat with the Small Business Saturday colorway from 2022 and a strand of our Fuzzy Wuzzy mohair. I think I can get this done by new years 🤔. Lunchtime knitting!!!

Today's is another oldie but goodie. Green by Mooroo Moodswing and in a leave pattern. I love these as well! Hiking in the Blue Mountains on the coast of Lake Huron. Following all my guidelines from cardiac rehab.

The last picture is the face of a woman with Cardiovascular disease. I will not let that define me. And I will not ignore it.
Get checked people and don't ignore symptoms! It saved my life.

Socktober! An oldie but goodie pair from a long ago colorway from in Moodswing. These socks get better with age. So warm and toasty. Mr. Mooroo took me to the Georgian Bay for a little vacation. (Close to a trauma center)! Beautiful views and working on a Musselburgh hat from . Love the pattern and 1 strand of Fuzzy Wuzzy and 1 strand of Moodswing fi*****ng is a delight to work on. It's the silk! This pattern is so adaptable for any weight. Yarns available at my LYS .

does her magic again! Anita who is such a fantastic knitter has turned our Moonlight DK in the color Hint, into a beautiful new sweater! This is the Shifting Sands Pullover by . The details are just beautiful on this sweater.

We just dropped off a new batch of Hint in both fi*****ng and DK at their new location on Main Street in Fairport, in the old trolley station.

This yarn was very special batch. It was dyed by my husband and Roo, with me adding the special ingredients. For those who don't know I had major heart attack 3 weeks ago. I have been experiencing heart failure since the initial event, and I have started cardiac rehabilitation to strengthen my heart. This is a Public Service Announcement about Coronary Artery Disease in families. When looking into the potential causes of this event, we discovered that I have elevated levels of Lipoprotein (a). This is part of your LDL cholesterol and goes untested unless you have a Coronary event. If you or your family has elevated cholesterol and a history of Coronary events, such as heart attacks or cardiac stents, ask to get tested for Lipoprotein (a). It can be managed, and getting tested may save your life.

What a great trip to my favorite physical LYS!!! They just got in the ChiaoGoo swivel needles and had to snag a few pairs! Heard great things about them. Also visited our newest sample made by the fantastic sample knitter Anita . It's the Destination Shawl by Cheryl Faust . What a lovely design. Gives you a woven look with mosaic knitting. 2 skeins of Almost Midnight and Hint in a Fi*****ng weight.

All the yarn! Getting prepped for the yarn show on Sunday. I had my knee replaced so the lovely ladies are bri ging my yarn! They are the best! I dyed up some new colors for the show including the return of Satire. We have a new sample Anita knit up in Hint which is our most popular colorway! We have new minis for kits that put together ❤️! Will miss seeing all of you but hoping you will stop by and see what is new!
