Peggy’s bedroom refresh started with three ideas (based off of the preferences she shared in her kick-off questionnaire) to help choose a direction before moving into the design concept phase. Visualizing a direction before making investment purchases saves so much time, energy, and money–and this is only the first step in the visualization process! You’ve seen the gorgeous "after" of this kitchen... but you haven't seen where we started! 😱

I completely re-envisioned this entire footprint to take it from dark and cramped to bright and highly functional. By removing the old soffits and pantry closet and adding a much larger window, the room instantly felt more spacious and flooded with natural light.

Here is how we optimized every single square inch:

--Smart Layout Changes: We moved the fridge into the old pantry space and extended the kitchen's footprint to fit a separate oven and extra pantry storage.
--The Ultimate Island: Designed a brand-new island that comfortably seats four, complete with a tucked-away microwave and pull-out waste/recycling bins (something there was zero space for before!). We also added two cohesive pendant lights to highlight and finish the space.
--Custom Details: A custom range hood, stunning countertop-to-ceiling tile, handmade white oak open shelving, and bright, durable new flooring.
--High-End Finishes: Tied it all together with a statement sink, an all-in-one faucet with a built-in reverse osmosis filter, window-framing sconces, and beautiful new cabinets and hardware.

Monochrome brown tones are in and they are comforting and feel luxurious and layered.

This design is from a recent ad by CB2. I love this aesthetic. The art on the wall is beautiful and goes so well with the warm transitional luxe design style and color palette. But is the abstract art piece meaningful and storied?

The Studio Offerings side of AHD offers a piece of art that is also beautiful, goes with various aesthetics and this pretty brown color palette, and is also full of story and meaning. This piece is meant to be a constant reminder that resources are not scarce. Blessing is not scarce. There’s more than enough gifts, talent, and resources to go around for everyone. This set of art that I’ve created symbolizes The Source of everything, Jesus, God, Holy Spirit, also known as Rivers Of Living Water that never run dry. He is constant and consistent and generous. He pours out strength, wisdom, truth, joy, patience, satisfaction, fulfillment, endurance, blessing, and knowledge. We are satisfied and have all that we need.

Jeremiah 17: 7-8:

7 “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord,
And whose hope is the Lord.
8 For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters,
Which spreads out its roots by the river,
And will not fear when heat comes;
But its leaf will be green,
And will not be anxious in the year of drought,
Nor will cease from yielding fruit.
