This lovely piece is so much more than just an amazing bowl. For those that know me personally know that my dad has been fighting Pancreatic Cancer for several years. On November 10, he lost that battle. My dad loved my bowls dearly and was so proud of my work. He was by far my biggest fan and greatest supporter! Even on his death bed, he whispered for me to “keep making those beautiful bowls”. I’ve spent the last 4 weeks processing, grieving, reliving moments with him, as well as dreading this moment. See, for many of you this is a pretty bowl, you will “double tap” and keep scrolling. Many won’t even take the time to read this. For me, this is the first bowl I will post that my dad is unable to “like” and comment on. He’s not going to call me to “oohh and ahh” over the grain pattern. He’s not gonna drive over and pick it up and examine closely. See walnut was his favorite wood and this one captured everything about walnut he loved! So with tears in my eyes, I post this for you Dad, I love you and miss you daily!! I know you’re looking down and smiling!! Dad, since u aren’t able to comment this one, I ask that no one else comment it either.
