I’ve been thinking a lot about what I actually want Vela + Co. to be known for.
Because the truth is, there are a LOT of things in the design world that I can do.
But being capable of something doesn’t automatically make it my expertise.
I can decorate a room.
I can source furniture.
I can help choose finishes.
I can give an opinion on just about anything you put in front of me 😂
But I’m not interested in positioning myself as the designer who does a little bit of everything.
My depth is in residential renovation and transformation.
Give me the house that feels dated, disconnected, awkward, or like it has so much potential but you cannot figure out how to get it there.
THAT is where I’m exceptional.
I can walk into a space and see beyond what’s currently there. I can see how the rooms should relate to each other, what needs to change, what needs to stay, where the money is worth spending, and how all of those individual decisions need to come together so the finished home feels intentional.
And then I can carry that vision through the renovation instead of handing you a pretty concept and wishing you luck.
I don’t need Vela + Co. to be everything to everyone anymore.
I want us to be damn good at the thing we’ve earned the right to be known for:
Taking homes with unrealized potential and transforming them into homes that feel completely considered, cohesive, and finished.
That’s the lane.
And I’m very comfortable putting our name on it.
