It always amazes me how the addition of each piece and each detail can bring a creation to life.

I often find myself doubting my abilities - and I find that more apparent with amigurumi because….well, they always start out looking a bit “alien” and strange. Especially the face.

I hope seeing this step-by-step snapshot can help you envision just a bit more how much work and love goes into a handmade item.

This customer absolutely loved the panda that we made last year, but wanted an original twist - a blue/black combo with a personalized monogramming of the initials, “FM” on the stomach of this uniquely-created panda.

When I set off to start my Etsy shop one year ago, I never envisioned what my success may look like. I just wanted to turn my hobby into something a bit more special. I guess when I finally sit down and think of it, all I wanted was for my craft and my skill to touch other people’s lives. I wanted to be able to create products that people all around the world would hopefully cherish for the rest of their lives. So far, I think I’ve reached that benchmark 😄.

I said all of that to say that I never expected Creatively Chic Crochet to grow into something with such a large following, and for that, I’d like to thank you all once again for keeping me in this completely unexpected state of awe.

Credit to for this life changing tip! I can’t even count the amount of times I’ve forgotten what size crochet hook I was using for a project.

I’ve seen some great ones over the years - like writing the hook size on a piece of paper and then clipping it onto the project - but this is ingenious and I don’t have any idea why I couldn’t come up with this myself.

I think it safe to say that this is one of those life hacks that I will make an “unconscious standard practice in [my] life”.

For those of you who have been following us since the start of our journey, the month of October marks one year since we launched our Etsy store.

Although we didn’t start promoting on social media until February of this year, we really do appreciate all the love and support that we have received thus far!

This week was a very special week for us as we officially hit 10 sales on Etsy! This is thanks to none other than one of my biggest supporters and dearest of friends, Callwood! She is our first and tenth customer and I can’t think of no other better person to hold those titles than her.
