We may have buried the lede: there’s fabric, too.

We believe in this industry and the community around it. We believe in craftsmanship, stories, rituals, process and meaning. In knowing who made something, where it came from and why it exists.

That means bringing new, and sometimes familiar, creative voices to the trade through thoughtful print-on-demand production, while working toward ways to keep beautiful textiles in circulation through the Trade Exchange.

How we work together looks different for every maker. For some, it’s representation. For others, collaboration. And for some, we have the honor of helping bring their work into digital print for the very first time.

Everyone we work with is a partner in the process.

Fabric + wallcoverings, available online and in New York at the D&D Building, The Collective, 4th Floor.

As we build our professional photography library, some room scenes shown here were created using AI as a visualization tool with our actual patterns. The final image shows our textiles in our New York showroom.

Meet the Maker: Jules Haines.

Many of you will already know Jules through HAINES and the work she has done to rethink waste in the interiors industry.

We knew we wanted to work with Jules because so much of what she had built—and the values behind it—aligned with our own. What we didn’t know when we first reached out was that she had already been quietly working on something new: the Classics Collection.

It felt like one of those rare moments of perfect timing.

Fittingly, Jules will launch the Classics Collection on October 8, World Circular Textiles Day. We’re incredibly excited to give Jules and her new collection a home here in the U.S., while continuing to champion her work and thoughtful approach to the industry.

The collection will arrive at Sister & Sewn’s New York home in the D and D Building in late October.

Until then, we wanted you to meet the person behind it all.

Here’s to beautiful beginnings. 🇬🇧 ↔ 🇺🇸

Beyond the Pattern.

Who created this? Why did they create it? What does it mean?

Sister & Sewn began, in many ways, as a personal quest to answer those questions — and too often, we couldn’t.

The deeper we get into this work, the more curious we become. Through conversations with artists and makers, research, mistakes, experimenting with scale and building repeats, we’re learning to look differently — and to listen to the language of textiles themselves.

There is so much that happens before something becomes a finished product. So much knowledge, instinct, experimentation and human experience that we may never see if we only look at the pattern.

We certainly don’t have all the answers. We’re learning every day, and we hope we always are. But the more we learn, the stronger our commitment becomes to asking the questions, acknowledging the origin and keeping the person connected to the work.

If there are artists, makers, methods or books that have taught you something or changed the way you see, please share them in the comments. We’d love to keep learning alongside you.

A world you want to enter — and stay awhile.

Whimsical. Unexpected. Sophisticated without taking itself too seriously.

Jessica Russell Flint’s work is full of wit, curiosity and the kind of details you notice differently each time you look.

Her world is shaped by instinct, memory, motherhood, interiors, fashion and a willingness to follow an idea wherever it leads.

That spirit became DECOUPE.

And now, we’re bringing a piece of it stateside.

The first DECOUPE x Sister & Sewn textiles and wallcoverings are available online now — original DECOUPE patterns in exclusive Sister & Sewn colorways, printed in the United States.

And we’re only just beginning.

More arrives October 8 at D&D Fall Market in New York.

We’ve been saving the remnants.

Beautiful pieces collected from designers, workrooms and our own studio — some became one-of-a-kind pillows, others are ready for their next life by the yard.

And we need a little room.

We’re clearing the studio for more exchanges, our own collection, and a series of special studio releases coming this fall — including Elliston House | Custom Textiles & Wallpaper on October 26.

So tomorrow, we’re opening our workroom.

Meet the Maker: Pauline Greuell

For the first time, Netherlands-based textile artist, pattern designer and teacher Pauline Greuell’s hand-stenciled patterns are being translated for digital textile printing.

Pauline’s work reminds us of the importance of slowing down, connecting to ourselves, and the transformative power of textiles as one of our oldest forms of creative expression.

We are incredibly proud to welcome Pauline to the Sister & Sewn Founding Collection and to work alongside her to preserve the spirit of the original artwork as we bring these patterns to textiles and wallcoverings in exclusive colorways for the U.S. market.

Turning the ordinary into pattern, rhythm and curiosity, with a depth and soul you can feel. That is the work of Nordic Duck.

Some people seem to carry creativity just beneath the surface. Ieva Rudzīte is one of them.

When we first met Ieva, she was warm, open and almost humming with creativity. She shared her excitement, her vulnerability and a glimpse of the life she has created beside a fjord in Norway. It felt less like a formal introduction and more like the beginning of something we would build together.

That same openness lives in her work. Her eye is drawn to nature, animals, historic ornament, church interiors and traditional craftsmanship, which she translates into patterns filled with warmth, history and character.

A closer look at the story behind Nordic Duck, part of the Sister & Sewn Founding Collection.

Between sisters, an entire conversation can pass without a word.

For Sophie Porter and Celia Haynes, that instinctive shorthand sits at the heart of Meredith House. Sophie brings more than two decades of experience across the interiors industry, including her time as Managing Director of Jean Monro.

Celia built a twenty-year international career spanning private family service, fashion, and premium lifestyle before bringing that experience to Meredith House—a studio named in honor of their father, Charles Meredith Hamer, and rooted in their shared history.

Their roles may differ, but the creative conversation is shared. The work takes shape through honest exchange, quiet understanding, and the ease of knowing when to debate an idea, when to work quietly side by side, and when a design is complete.

A closer look inside the process of Meredith House, part of the Sister & Sewn Founding Collection.

Exclusive U.S.-printed Meredith House colorways launch September 1.
