Dear (in)courage sisters,



Did you know that May is Mental Health Awareness month? As someone who has journey through the valley of anxiety and depression, I want to take this moment to say clearly:



If you struggle with mental health, you are not alone.

One of the most healing things for me in my mental health journey has been to bring my struggles out of the darkness of isolation and into the light of shared experience. Whether it’s talking to a therapist or confiding in a friend or pouring out my heart in the pages of my journal, giving voice to the angst and unsettledness inside always makes space for more love, grace, and light.



So as we end May, I say:

Here’s to not being shackled by stigma or shame but freely saying when we’re not okay and asking for support.

Here’s to being a safe place for others who struggling.

Here’s to hope that today’s pain won’t always be this way.

Here’s to remembering that your life is of immense value—even on days when the pit feels too deep and dark to climb out.

You are not alone.

I discovered The James Method company a few years ago when someone in my group mentioned verse mapping. So, I Googled it of course and found several different versions out there. This one was one of them, and I must say it has been the best investment I have made. Now the have a verse mapping and Happy Mapper Course bundle that is so worth it! Check it out, it is so worth it. So much so that I am purchasing the bundle (even though I have a mapper journal) to learn even more about digging deeper into God's word!

This card stuck out to me today. I feel as if there's more to it than what I'm reading. I smile when I read it. "Be amazed by grace," I think Jesus. "Be captivated by mercy," I think Jesus. "Be content in everlasting love," I think of Jesus. Maybe I'm reading more into it? I guess my mind sees it as Be amazed by Jesus (He is grace), Be captivated by Jesus (He is mercy), be content in Jesus (He is everlasting love). Am I reading more into it? Regardless, my heart needs it. Pictures below is my Mary and Martha encouragement box with card I decorated.

I love being able to share my faith, but I'm not always bold or brave. Prayers to share help me break the ice! There are so many different ones, and I personally own one of each! I will tear out a few from each booklet and stick them in my purse or Bible bag. If I see someone who looks like they are having a rough day, I will pull one out and ask them to choose one. If they ask why, I tell them I am conducting an experiment and want to see if the one they chose applies to them or if it was something they needed to hear. I can tell you that as of yet, I have not had anyone yet say that they didn't need to hear those words! That opens the conversation for me! What are some ways you would use prayers to share?
