Piecing it all together.
As I continue to work on Zoie’s room, I’m reminded of what a fun age she is!..So many accessories, jewelry, hair supplies, glitter and all the fun stuff!
At this session I made it so she can utilize all of her things in a way that works for her. I was careful not to over categorize her items, so that she will be able to use the system.
All of her jewelry is in one place, simply separated by necklaces, rings, earrings and bracelets. Her dresser has a bin where all of her scrunchies and bows are located. Next, in her top drawer are items that she can easily grab and then put back, all separated and placed into their own bin within the drawer.
I love creating spaces that work for the client. Zoie was so excited to have all of her things in one place, that allows her to easily find them.

Spaces & places!
My girl captured some photos of me working in her daughters space today, can’t wait to see!
My client and I are working on creating a space that her 9yr old daughter loves! Today I began sorting some serious girly stuff; dolls, barbies, and of course all of their accessories! I felt like my 9yr. old self!
I’m all about creating sections within the space that can not only be utilized for storage, but also for play. Right in front of the shelf is an open area as well as a doll house on the side.
This way she can pull out the drawers and use the space to play, right where they are!
On our next session we’re creating a jewelry/accessory sections and a surprise reading nook in the closet!

🍋When life gives you lemons...
So we’re all moved into the new house! Yay! Organizing and decorating are on and happening, PLUS all the other out of the house stuff. THEN my sweet Traelynd gets diagnosed with COVID. So needless to say all consultations and appointments have been put on hold. We’re all quarantined for the next 14 days. But we’re taking it all to spend time making our new home ours.
We’re trusting God’s plan and having faith in him. I truly believe that this was his way of helping us to slow down, once again, and remember what’s most important. Traelynd is doing fine, he’s bummed of course, but it looks like he has a mild case and is on a quick road to recovery.
Making lemonade and creating a new coffee bar with bright colors and hidden storage space!

Oh hey! I’m ready to climb mountains to organize your space!
Today we started work on a storage unit filled with holiday items, family heirlooms, furniture, and more! We took it all out sectioned it off, made piles for donate & trash. Next we’re moving it all to the clients own storage shed and placing items in clear containers for better access! Better, the client will no longer have to pay a costly storage fee & will have items right at home, easy to access!

Closet swap season!
It’s that time of year when we’ve had enough warm days to break out the t-shirts! Personally, after a year of COVID, I’m excited for high waisted skirts to hide the symptoms of board eating during quarantine.
Here in Virginia the weather is unpredictable so when it comes it my closet I like to keep a mix of seasonal items. Today I put away most of my heavy sweaters, but left a couple just in case, and put out skirts, and tanks.
I snagged these awesome drawers at for just $9 (so naturally I bought 2 of them) they are perfect for holding skirts, denim shorts, camis etc. They will also fit into almost any closet space.
How do you transition your closet?!

How cute are these containers? I love that they come with labels and a chalk marker. Not to mention great ratings!
I have found that there is always a solution for every space, you just have to find the right product!
Right now I’m working on a closet and storage building and as I am researching, I am finding SO many product solutions that will help make the space more purposeful. What are some of your favorite products?

Today I started work on a room in our new house. Still have to touch up, finish the top and trip. Looking forward to the transition to a “big girl room”.
Making the change can be hard, but it’s also a good opportunity to see what they still play with, what can be donated and what else they may need.

Let’s close today with this.
Today was my first “official” consultation as a professional organizer. Although, I’ve been doing it for years. Today it was official. Being a mom is my greatest joy. I truly believe that it is a solid part of my purpose, to raise a family. In raising a family, I want my kids to know to be “strong”, strong in God, strong on their purpose, strong in chasing their dreams, building a life, whatever it is. For me this business is about chasing my purpose. I truly LOVE helping people find the joy in their spaces, making a way when they didn’t think that there was one, making space and time for things that are important to them. Not only do I hope to bring my clients joy, but it definitely brings joy to me. I’m thankful that I was raised to be strong, thankful that I can be the mom that my kids need, the wife my husband needs. Today I’m thankful to be a woman and serve out the multiple purposes that God has given me. To you, women, you are super hero’s!

Hi! Weird question?! Can I organize your fridge?!

Friday is grocery shopping day in the Hicks house. It’s important to do “fridge prep” before you restock.
Empty out leftovers, wipe down shelves and arrange anything that is out of place. This makes the chore of putting up your groceries so much easier.
Refrigerators are one of my favs to organize! The fridge is a staple in the home and creating a system for it just helps to make things easier for your family! Labels help kids (and adults) know where to put things back. I also love having a shelf just for leftovers, this makes it easier to know what you have left, I LOVE a good leftover night for dinner. Also creating a “drawer” for kids single serve items is a great way to regulate what your kids are getting.
