do you ever feel called to a plant? 🌱
as I grow older each and every year on this planet I learn more and more and I love that we have the ability to do just that! LEARN! So let’s learn about this plant together!
This is called coneflower or echinacea and is also called a red sunflower, a hedgehog flower or a prairie flower.
How do you know when it’s ready? Flowers & leaves: Pick them when the flowers are fully open during summer. Use them fresh or dry them for teas. Roots: Wait until the plant is at least two to three years old. Dig up the roots in the fall, wash off the dirt, and chop them into small pieces.
Traditional healers and modern herbalists use the roots, flowers (petals and central cones), leaves.
echinacea is used as an immune system stimulant to help prevent and shorten the duration of the common cold, flu, and mild upper respiratory tract infections. Most commonly found in capsules, tinctures and teas. (I love the tincture and tea form personally!)
This magical plant has been used medicinally for centuries ✨
Have you heard of the coneflower? How do you like to use it? Let’s heal out loud together! ❤️🩹
