Meet Axle. Axle is a 3 yo lab that resides in the Fredericktown Animal Shelter. Axle has heartworms. Yes, heartworms that have microfilaria. Axle is in for the fight of his life. Axle needs a foster home to support him through 30 days of antibiotics and then 30 days of normal dog stuff. He will then have one shot and will need 30 days of limited activity. He will then get 2 shots and needs another 30 of quiet. Everything will be paid for by the rescue. We just need a place for him to get the treatment and to recuperate. He is 70+ pounds but is very shy. We will definitely provide a crate, food and anything else he would need. He was fine with the other dogs at the vet’s office. Please, please, please consider fostering this poor fella.
