An ode to Telsche — and to what it really means to build a team.

One of my very first hires as General Manager for the Arctic Winter Games was the Cultural Coordinator role — because culture was never “extra programming.” It was foundational. AWG is the only international multi-sport and cultural event of its kind, and I believed the cultural component deserved the same level of intention and investment as the 21 sports in competition.

Telsche understood something many people miss: culture is not decoration. It is identity, hospitality, storytelling, and connection.

Featured here is the Cultural Gala — one of the hallmark events of the Games week — bringing together performers from across the circumpolar north in a celebration of music, dance, language, artistry, and tradition. It was one of those moments where you could truly feel the purpose of the Games in the room.

The best hires do more than execute tasks. They expand the vision. They make organizations smarter, stronger, and more human. Telsche was one of those people.

A little peek into the flower house refresh. ✨🌿

Air plants and echeveria tucked into new corners, sweet dried bQ adding texture and warmth, and a fresh take on hyacinth that has me completely swooning. Fresh flowers land later today, but honestly I wish smell-o-vision existed because the scent in here right now is absolutely intoxicating.

The little flower house is feeling wildly alive in the very best way. 🌸

Cafe au Lait dahlias stole the show at this celebration — layered with thoughtful details, a little whimsy, and wine bottle table numbers handcrafted by the couple themselves. ✨ When hospitality industry people throw a party, they throw a party. Hosted at one of their favorite NYC restaurants, the entire evening felt personal, warm, delicious, and wildly full of love. 🥂
