I finally feel like it is FALL! Leaves are slowly changing, so today I went out and picked up a few pretties and am anxious to try preserving them!
I first saw this technique on Crochetcrazyhelen. She had done a reel about how to do it and it made me anxious for fall to arrive so I could try it!
Now I’m hoping I can find more types of leaves in a variety of reds, yellows, and orange to add to my first batch. For now, I’ll just be patiently waiting for Tuesday afternoon to roll around so I can see if this first batch works!

It has been “a week” shall we say. I’ve been trying to get in a bit of sewing time to mentally counteract some of the tragedy that came calling to my husband’s family. It helps to have something to try to focus on.
Today was a trip across the river to Creve Coeur to find out what I already knew. I can’t hear!! Finally time for hearing aids. I’m more than ready!!! I’ll book that appointment closer to home. BUT….the plus side of crossing that river is the good eats! The Original Pancake House in Ladue for gluten free pecan pancakes was today’s winning choice!
Seek comfort when and where you can folks… whether it be using your hands to create or filling your tummy with comfort food.
How do you cope with a stress-filled week????

And PS: please don’t EVER drink and drive.

What a (sad but amazing) story!! I’m so glad he had an outlet for artistic expression as well as the spirit to bring him to hospice care while incarcerated. I would love to see his exhibit.

Another beautiful day so I’m back in my happy place…my patio! The last couple of months have been so very busy that today has been my day to chill…with scrubbing and a putty knife in hand!
This train case journey may take me all winter, but if someone catches me saying “I’m bored” just remind me I have plenty of fun at hand!
Scrubbed the outside of the bluish green case and then pulled out a suitcase that was recently gifted to be by my quilting buddy Mary, and started cleaning and deconstructing it as well. I have others to do, but not sure I should move forward on those just yet. Hmmm…but these beautiful days won’t be here much longer I’m afraid.

An online course is available through Neon Moon Sewing Co. (I am watching and rewatching at my own pace. Perfect for me!)

It was a good day for a good day! Outing with friends took us up I-55 to Litchfield, IL for lunch, then through the countryside we headed to Carlinville, IL for shopping and coffee! Perfect weather for wandering around a small town square!
Here’s a tidbit for you…it was just announced this week that Carlinville will be the setting of a Hallmark Christmas movie to be released in 2027! 🎅🏻🤶🏻🎄
