I got a very special text on Christmas morning. It simply said “I cried” and was accompanied by a couple of pictures.

Maureen and I were co-workers, friends, and roommates for a bit in Colorado over 20 years ago before we both got married and moved back to our respective home states to raise our families. We don’t keep in touch much other than Christmas cards and facebook, so I was surprised to get a custom order from her husband all the way from Pennsylvania for a “Warm Sunset” sun-catcher. In talking over the order, he explained how special beach sunsets are for him and Maureen. I made the piece and sent it off hoping she’d love it!

I was delighted to get that text and see how happy she was with the thoughtful gift from her husband that I got to be a part of! Here are some pics of the sun-catcher and my old friend, Mo!

My birds have been very popular this season! In my last big marketing push for my fall products, I got several additional orders for cardinal ornaments after selling out what I had previously made. Many people told me how meaningful a cardinal sighting is as a greeting from a loved one who has passed away. The past few days, I spent many hours fulfilling those orders and documented the process to show all of the steps to make stained glass. Birds have been very popular this season! In my last big marketing push for my fall products, I got several additional orders for cardinal ornaments after selling out!
