One of my greatest joys is designing children’s spaces that feel distinctly their own—filled with the interests, collections, and details that make them unique—while still blending seamlessly with the overall character of the home.

I believe these rooms should begin with strong foundational pieces: timeless furniture, thoughtful lighting, beautiful textiles, and a versatile color palette. These elements can grow with a child, while bedding, artwork, and accessories evolve alongside their changing tastes and interests.

The result is a room that feels joyful and personal today, yet remains beautiful and functional for years to come.

I love anything that helps homeowners feel more confident in their homes—including AI. It can be wonderful for sparking ideas and helping you see a room differently. But it is a starting point, not a designer.

AI cannot reliably judge scale, source real products, read undertones or understand how your family needs a space to function. Use it to get your wheels turning, then trust your instincts—or ask a designer for a little guidance when you feel stuck.

Good design does not always require a full-service project. Sometimes one thoughtful consultation is enough to turn a collection of ideas into a room that truly works.

This project feels especially close to my heart.

I got my start in interior design creating spaces for children with special needs—a passion I discovered shortly after my own child received his unique diagnosis.

This room was designed for a very special little girl with specific sensory and proprioceptive needs. Her mother wanted to give her a space where she could safely and independently explore, move and play—while still feeling sweet, feminine and cohesive with the rest of their Craftsman-style home.

Using my custom design method, we focused on what her daughter needed most while also considering what the entire family needed from the space. Every choice was made with purpose: to encourage independence, support regulation and create a greater sense of peace and calm within their home.

Because thoughtful design isn’t only about how a room looks. It’s about understanding the people who live there—and creating a home that truly supports them.

If you’ve ever thought, “I just need help with this one thing…” this is for you.

Before moving to Abilene, I spent years working as an interior designer in Dallas/Fort Worth. And, over and over, I heard the same things:

“I just need help pulling this room together.”

“I know what I like, but I don’t know how to make it work.”

“I’m just not good at this.”

I disagree.

I don’t believe creating a beautiful, thoughtful home is beyond your abilities, and I don’t believe good design knowledge should be kept behind the usual time and financial barriers of the traditional design experience.

So I created Design Camp.

Design Camp is one afternoon in community with a small group of 6 women. You bring your biggest design questions, your photos, and your dreams for your home. I’ll bring the principles, practical guidance, and designer insight to help you move forward with confidence.

I’m so excited to introduce Design Camp—an exclusive, small-group experience created for women who want to feel more confident designing their homes.

Join me at Heyday gift shop for an inspiring afternoon of practical instruction, personalized feedback, and thoughtful conversation about your own home projects. We’ll talk architecture, color, fabrics, scale, shopping wisely, working with contractors, and how to create rooms that feel beautifully and authentically yours.

Then, during the second hour, we’ll turn our attention to your questions and projects—with real-time guidance from me and inspiration from the women around the table.
