Fluid Art

I was born left-handed. Some people say that makes a person more creative. I have always loved art, and remember from a very early age, lying on the floor of the living room with a piece of paper or a poster board and drawing with crayons, pencils and markers.

By the time I reached high school and was able to register for classes, I took every art class that was offered and when I ran out of those, I did independent studies in the art room. I say “art room" because in my tiny school that covered 7th through 12th grade, in one building, there was only one art room!

After high school, I continued my artwork. Mostly, I did pieces for friends and family. I would produce the occasional drawing or painting but found myself mostly immersed in interior design and renovation with a bit of jewelry making and design thrown into the mix.

Recently we've all been consumed and overwhelmed by everything COVID! So, in the spring of 2020, I started painting again; this time with fluid acrylics. I called it my, “Pandemic Art Therapy.” It started with just one canvas and some leftover paint from a stenciling project. From there, my supply of canvases, acrylic paints, pouring mediums, containers, utensils and storage containers have grown exponentially. It's become a full-blown art studio and it's taken over multiple areas of the house!
