September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month.
Some of you may know this already, but I’m sure many of you don’t—ovarian cancer is a cancer that I know all too well. It’s a part of our story that has forever changed our lives and took away the dream of having children of our own.
I am forever grateful to still be here today, but there are some words you never forget. Hearing, “You can never have children,” is a gut-wrenching sentence that is incredibly hard to swallow.
After enduring chemotherapy and two major surgeries, I’ve had to learn how to navigate life knowing that becoming parents biologically may not be part of our story. It has been one of the hardest things we’ve ever faced.
But through the heartache, we’ve also found a purpose. ❤️
One of the reasons we started Beam and Grain Designs was with the hope that maybe, someday, we could use what we build to help make adoption possible for us. And if adoption isn’t where our story leads, we still want to use our business to help others, give back, and make a difference wherever we can.
That’s the meaning behind this design. It’s so much more than just a shirt—it represents a part of our journey, something we’ve endured, and the hope we continue to carry with us.
