Original French hand-colored intaglio engraving depicting three birds:

• Le Barbu de Cayenne
• Le Torcol
• Le Paille-en-Queue

Printed on paper with visible plate impression and period hand coloring. From the French encyclopedic natural history tradition. Scarce 19th-century ornithological engraving.

Housed in a later frame and mat, with the original mat showing foxing consistent with age. The print itself presents cleanly with strong color and detail.
