A little progress on the front landscaping and walkway project.

We still need to add the sand and finish the joints, but I couldn’t wait to share how it’s coming together.

One thing I was really hoping for was a natural, collected feel. We intentionally mixed stone colors and asked the installers to use snapped edges whenever possible rather than making everything perfectly straight and uniform.

Thank you for understanding my goal and capturing it beautifully! Every stone was placed with intention, but the goal was for the finished result to feel effortless.

I enjoy creating spaces that feel authentic to the house rather than simply new. Spaces that honor its character AND making it work for the way we live.

One thing I didn’t expect to love so much about remodeling this old house is the random little pieces of history hidden inside the walls.

Recently while pulling off old trim upstairs, we flipped over one of the boards and found this stamp:
Denison & Coerper — Hartford, Wis.

Doing a little searching I found they were a Hartford based merchant from the mid-1800s through the early 1900s. Involved in general supply, lumber, and local banking.

Last time we repaired a wall, we found an ortho bill from 1932 tucked inside’

It’s so fun finding these little glimpses into everyday life from the people who lived here before us. Nothing museum-worthy, Just normal life.

Makes me think we should all leave something behind in our walls for the next family someday.

A note. A drawing. A photo. Event a bill! Something small that says “we were here too.” 🤍

Restocked creative kits this past weekend and I have to say… I absolutely love putting these together!

And it seems like you all are loving them too, they were one of the most popular items this month.

One reason I love these kits so much is because they offer “contained creativity”.

Not everyone has a craft room.
Not everyone wants bins and bins of supplies.
Not everyone has the time, energy, or desire for a giant creative setup.

These kits are meant to remove the pressure and make creativity feel approachable again.

No directions. No “right way.”
Just space to explore, play, create, journal, scrapbook, layer, experiment, or simply slow down for a little while.

They’re also perfect for creative kids when you want less mess and fewer supplies everywhere. Add a journal, some tape or glue, and markers, and you’re ready to create.

I think sometimes we forget creativity doesn’t have to be complicated to be meaningful!

Just my little plug of encouragement to hold a little space for some creativity in your life 😊

Dropped off a new card display at my booth today

Cards continue to be the most loved item in the booth, so I wanted to make it even easier to browse and find the perfect one for the moment you need.

I truly believe having cards on hand matters.
For celebrations, encouragement, grief, gratitude. “Thinking of you” moments. Tiny reminders that they matter.

Sometimes the smallest thing, like receive a message from you becomes the most needed.

“Sometimes it’s okay to not be okay.”

Finding this quote it felt important to create. A small reminder that there are hard days and seasons. Giving ourselves permission to be where we are.

It’s been in my sketchbook for a while now, and I am finally getting it out of you!

A peek into something new we’ve been exploring lately (me and my daughter)

Collage has been a different kind of creative process for me, less planned, more exploration, and definitely stretching me outside my comfort zone.

This piece started with a page from an old encyclopedia!

Mess and all, here are recent updates.

Table made from wood stashed in the barn and screws from the kids old playground. Don’t be afraid to explore what you have.

Light picked up at Home Depot after way too many hours spent scrolling on Etsy, Pinterest and Wayfair. Sometimes the challenge of “I bet you can’t just go to the store and pick one” is all you need. 😂

Chairs from Marketplace! If I am looking for something specific I give myself a time frame, 2 weeks, one month, etc. if I don’t find something on marketplace by then…move on. Especially if you are trying to finish a project, or it’s holding you up.

While I would to say “it’s done!” The creating and collecting over time is what brings it all together for me. (I know that’s not for everyone…but do some of us it works great!)

A little close-up of two cards I added to Etsy yesterday.

Sometimes it feels like our words won’t offer enough comfort, but sometimes that’s all they need from you. A reminder that they are in your heart.
