🧼 🫧BEHIND THE SCENES 🫧🧼

You see the smiling faces, the packed tables, the delicious treats, and all the fun at the shows… but THIS is what the aftermath looks like! 😂

After a busy weekend of festivals and markets, we come home with what feels like a million trays that need to be washed, sanitized, dried, and put away. 😅

Between baking, prepping, packing, loading the trailer, setting up, selling all weekend, tearing everything down, and then coming home to THIS..it’s definitely a labor of love!❤️

But honestly? We wouldn’t trade it for anything. 🥰

Every dirty tray means we had a successful weekend. Every empty box means someone took home something delicious. And every exhausted Monday means we got to meet amazing customers and do what we love! 🥧🍪🍫

So here’s a little peek at the not-so-glamorous side of running Ak’s Homemade Treats. 😂

This classic Greek dessert is rich, sweet, nutty, and absolutely delicious! Our Baklava is packed with almonds, walnuts, pistachios, pecans, and honey 🍯🥜

And let’s talk about that crispy, flaky goodness! 🤌 Our Baklava is made with thinly layered phyllo dough, baked to perfection to give you those delicate, crispy layers that make every bite so satisfying. 😍

It’s rich and sweet, with the perfect amount of crunch from all those delicious nuts. And honestly? It pairs PERFECTLY with a warm cup of black coffee ☕️… or a latte 😂 — whatever you prefer!

🍪 So… What Exactly Is Brown Butter? 🧈✨

You may have noticed we call our cookies Brown Butter Cookies — but what makes brown butter so special?

Brown butter starts out as regular butter, but we slowly heat it until the milk solids toast and turn golden brown. This creates an incredible nutty, rich, caramel-like flavor that you just can’t get from regular melted butter! 🤎

And that’s exactly why we use it in our cookies! 🍪

Brown butter gives our cookies:
✨ A deeper, richer flavor
✨ A delicious toasted, nutty taste
✨ A slightly caramelized flavor
✨ That extra “WOW!” factor in every bite

It takes a little more time and care to make brown butter, but we think it’s 100% worth it. We make it fresh for our cookies because we want every batch of AK’s Homemade Treats to taste homemade, special, and absolutely delicious! ❤️

Once you taste a brown butter cookie, you’ll understand why we don’t just use regular butter! 😍🍪

A HUGE thank you to everyone who came out to see us at the Stone Lake Cranberry Festival and the Bayfield Apple Festival! ❤️

We had another absolutely amazing year, and we are so thankful for every new customer, returning customer, smile, conversation, and of course… every pie and treat you took home! 🥧😍

You all make traveling to these festivals so worth it, and we truly appreciate your continued support of our small business! 🫶
