Monday Motivation is a little different today because June is a month that holds a lot of meaning for us.

As an LGBTQ+ owned business, celebrating and uplifting individuality, courage and pride is something we carry with us not just in June, but every single day. Pride Month is a reminder of how important it is to show up fully, to create space where people feel seen and welcome, and to be a beacon for the community we love so deeply.

This month and every month, we want Garsnett Beacon to be exactly that. A safe, warm, and welcoming space for everyone.

In a world that can feel loud and complicated, these three things can be a really grounding compass no matter who you are.

Lead with kindness. Live with intention. Be authentically you.

This morning I took a few minutes to sit outside with my coffee while our dog Miles roamed around the backyard. Nothing special about it. No big plans, no agenda. Just a quiet moment before the day started.

And honestly it was exactly what I needed.

There is something about those unremarkable moments that has a way of sneaking up on you. A warm cup of coffee. Fresh air. A dog who has absolutely no concerns in the world. It's easy to rush past them in the push to get going, but when you slow down enough to actually be in them, they have a way of filling you back up.

Find the beauty in the unremarkable. It's always there.

This week I want to encourage you to notice those moments. The small, quiet, nothing-special ones. Your version of a backyard and a cup of coffee. They're worth more than we give them credit for.

Happy Pride Month! While celebrating Pride is something we do every day, June gives us a chance to reflect on where we've been, recommit to where we're going, and show up louder than ever for the people who need it most.

Now more than ever, it matters that we uplift one another. At Garsnett Beacon, we're founded on the belief that we can illuminate change with each candle. Our mission has always been to amplify voices that are too often unheard, supporting mental health, uplifting educators, standing with minorities, and celebrating the LGBTQ+ community. A portion of every sale helps fuel that mission, backing initiatives for equality, inclusion, and well-being.

We're a proudly LGBTQ+ owned small business, and we strive to be a beacon in our communities, a safe, welcoming space where everyone feels seen, valued, and celebrated.

Because visibility matters. Because safety and equality matter. Because love, in all its forms, matters.

As we head into June we wanted to give you an update on our relocation.

After much thought and planning, our downtown Holland location will be closing on June 21st. It has been such a meaningful chapter for us and for this community, and we are so grateful for every single person who walked through those doors, supported us, and made Garsnett Beacon what it is today. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

But this isn't an ending. It's a beginning. A new chapter.

Our last day for candle pouring at the downtown Holland location will be June 20th. After that, we are thrilled to share that our Pour Your Own candle experience will be moving to our new location (746 Michigan Ave), but by appointment only.

Our new location opens July 9th and reservations are now open for Thursday through Saturday appointments. You can find more information and book at www.garsnettbeacon.com/reservations. We'd love to see you there!

And of course our Saugatuck location is open where you can shop our full collection and all of the Merchants and Makers artisans.
