For all of the “do you only paint for money comments”
I paint because I enjoy it, I paint because it’s therapeutic, I paint because I’m creative..
but despite my hiatus, I am still a business owner and knowing if what I create has a market for it or not anymore is important.
A lot of the comments have lead me to believe that my art just isn’t being pushed like it used to be, especially because I took a long creative break.
It also, broke my heart seeing how many artists are struggling to sell their work or to even afford to continue to create.
I put a lot of love into what I paint, it isn’t fast paced pieces, it isn’t me just throwing another one out, it’s me singing in my basement and taking my time to enjoy what I’m doing.
Everything is by hand, everything is with love, I don’t stencil, I don’t use stickers, I spend hours with hand cramps and back pain just to create something I’m happy with.
It has never, only been about money for me.

Also before anyone asks, yes this is me actually singing.

My art used to fly out of my house whenever I posted it and now.. crickets, it makes me wonder is there even a market for it anymore? Is it even worth painting?

Also no I don’t only paint to make money, I genuinely enjoy it, but it’s time consuming and time IS money. I could be doing something that makes me money rather than painting, which sucks to say but that’s just how the world is. I could be picking up another job instead.

Reading through comments I hate that everyone is really feeling it and going through it right now!
I hope someday soon we see a world where art is able to be bought and people are feeling comfortable.
