I love flat stones! I always pick them up, sometimes hardly believing how thin. I decided to try something a bit different with them. I stacked them, playing off of the colors and shapes, and am really liking the end result. I manipulated the color of the barn wood to pull in the stone color and my charming assistant made the frames. 😊

Earlier this summer we trekked across the bridge to the Upper Peninsula for our annual Northwoods Friends visit. On the way we spent a bit of time at one of my favorite places hunting for driftwood. You never know where your inspiration will come from. My 'sewing' brain had saved this blouse image a while back because I really liked the style, blend of colors and fabric. Recently, I started in on a stone project and realized I was gravitating toward the same colors. As luck would have it (ha, ha) I also had a perfect piece of driftwood.
