🎨 MINI LESSON: dagger brush.
Three things I learned using a dagger brush to paint transparent flowers:
1. Wet the paper first!
I figured the water in the belly of the brush would do all the blending I needed. NOT TRUE! While it helped, I learned very on that you still want water on the paper before adding paint.
2. Mind where you start the brush stroke.
On hot-pressed paper especially, be precise where you start the brush stroke. I was not able to go back and correct certain mistakes.
3. Practice different brush strokes with the dagger!
This brush really got away from me a few times! The tip seemed to jump forward and go beyond where I was trying to paint. Definitely practice on scratch paper first!
Stay tuned for what went RIGHT using this new favorite brush!
