Meredith Memorial Foundation The Meredith Memorial Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that's dedicated to honoring Houston's LGBTQ+ community.

A central part of our work is raising funds to cover 100% of cremation costs for qualifying LGBTQ+ individuals who pass away in hospice care The Meredith Memorial Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that serves Houston's LGBTQ+ community. Our guiding principle is simple: Honoring Lives with Compassionate Remembrance and Inclusive Celebration. We recognize that family is not solely defin

ed by blood ties but also by intentional connections, deep friendships, and unwavering support. The individuals we honor, our chosen family, were the architects of these vital support systems, building communities of care and acceptance. They are remembered as sources of strength, joy, and unconditional love by all who were fortunate enough to call them kin, regardless of formal ties. Their legacies are not defined by shared last names but by the indelible mark they left on our hearts and the countless lives they enriched. A central part of our work is raising funds to cover 100% of cremation costs for LGBTQ+ individuals that pass away while receiving care through Omega House Hospice who have no family to assume responsibility for their final arrangements — ensuring that every life is honored with dignity, regardless of circumstance. Through our work, we also provide complimentary Celebration of Life displays for LGBTQ+ individuals who pass away while receiving care through Omega House Hospice —creating safe, welcoming spaces where friends, chosen family, and loved ones can gather, share memories, and begin the healing process together. Thank you,

Joe Meredith

493 years ago today, on September 7, 1533, Queen Elizabeth I was born—a monarch whose life and legacy would leave an enduring mark on history.

History reminds us that while lives come to an end, the memories and legacies we leave behind can endure for generations.

That same belief is at the heart of the Meredith Memorial Foundation. Our purpose is to ensure that the lives of those we have lost within our LGBTQ+ community are remembered, honored, and celebrated with dignity, compassion, and love.

Every life has a story. Every person leaves a legacy. And every life deserves to be remembered.

Yesterday, August 28, marked one year since the Meredith Memorial Foundation began — founded with hope, compassion, and a dream of building something meaningful for Houston's LGBTQ+ community.

What started as a vision to ensure that every life is honored with dignity, respect, and remembrance has grown into something we are incredibly proud of.

In just one year, we have built meaningful relationships, received incredible support from our community, honored lives, created spaces for remembrance and connection, and helped ensure that individuals are not forgotten simply because of their circumstances.

We are proud of how much we have accomplished in our first year, but even more excited about what lies ahead.

To every person, organization, donor, volunteer, performer, business, and friend who has believed in the Meredith Memorial Foundation and supported our mission - thank you for being part of our first year.

This is only the beginning. ❤️🙂🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

When we say we honor all lives at the Meredith Memorial Foundation, we truly mean all lives-including those of our beloved pets.

Our pets are more than companions. They are family, trusted friends, and a source of unconditional love through some of life's happiest and most difficult moments. Their paw prints become part of our stories, and their absence leaves a space in our hearts that deserves to be acknowledged.

We believe the love we share with them is worthy of remembrance, and the lives they shared with us are worthy of being honored.

Because every life that brings love into this world deserves to be remembered. 🐾❤️

America has lost a truly beloved and irreplaceable figure: Dolly Rebecca Parton.

Born January 19, 1946, in the mountains of East Tennessee, Dolly rose from humble beginnings to become one of the most treasured entertainers of our time - a legendary singer, songwriter, actress, philanthropist, and businesswoman whose extraordinary career touched generations.

Beyond the music, the rhinestones, and her unmistakable personality was a woman with an enormous heart. Through her generosity and humanitarian work, Dolly changed countless lives, and through her unwavering message of love, acceptance, kindness, and equality, she became a cherished icon and longtime ally of the LGBTQ+ community.

Dolly Parton was more than a country music legend. She was an American treasure.

Her voice may have fallen silent, but the music she gave us, the lives she touched, and the love she put into this world will live on for generations.

Rest in peace, Dolly. You were deeply loved, and you will be sorely missed. 🦋
