Over the past year, it has been an absolute joy hosting craft parties and connecting with so many of you through creativity. However, recent events in my personal life have led me to take a step back and reevaluate my path, both professionally and personally.

I know I had lots of exciting plans for Shelly’s Artspace—big projects, new opportunities, and dreams of growth. While I was genuinely excited about all of it, I also found myself overwhelmed by the sheer magnitude of what I was trying to accomplish. I used January as a time to reflect on where Shelly’s Artspace was headed, and after much thought, I’ve come to an important decision: I will be stepping away from hosting craft parties.

This choice wasn’t easy, but it’s necessary for me to focus on my mental, emotional, and physical well-being, as well as to prioritize healing and strengthening my relationship with my partner.

Creating art has always been my happy place—it’s where I feel most fulfilled and at peace. I’ve realized it’s time for me to return to that space and focus on my own creative journey.

I also want to let you know that I still plan to host an Art and Craft Supply Swap this year—a new tradition I deeply cherish. I’ll notify everyone as soon as it’s scheduled, so keep an eye out for updates!

As I take this step back, I want to encourage everyone to prioritize their own mental well-being and relationships. Life moves so quickly, and it’s easy to lose sight of what truly matters. Take time for yourself, your loved ones, and your passions—you deserve it.

I hope you will continue to join me on this journey of growth and self-discovery. I am deeply grateful for the love and support you’ve shown me and Shelly’s Artspace, and I look forward to sharing what comes next as I reconnect with my creative roots.

Thank you for being part of this incredible journey with me. Your support has meant everything, and I hope our paths cross again in creative and inspiring ways in the future.

Brick-and-Mortar Dreams
We’re working hard to bring Shelly’s Artspace to life as a physical location! Our future space will be a hub for creativity with an art studio, crafting room, a gallery, retail space, a classroom, a photo studio and more. To make this happen, we’ll launch a crowdfunding campaign with amazing perks, while also seeking grants, investors, and loans. Stay tuned for ways you can help build this dream!

All-Ages Summer Camp (June 9-13)
Get ready for a week of creative fun for EVERYONE! Participants of all ages will dive into the same crafts, tailored to their age group (yes, adults—you too!). Mark your calendars for this unforgettable experience!

Exciting News for 2024: Ceramics Classes!

Starting February 5th, we’re thrilled to announce our new ceramics classes at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Recreation Center in Denton, TX!

Class Details:

Each session includes four classes over four weeks.
Choose between:
Wednesdays, 11 AM - 2 PM
Wednesdays, 5:30 PM - 8:30 PM
February’s Focus: Slump Molds
You’ll learn to create your own slump mold to fashion fun trays and explore surface techniques to decorate your pieces.

Cost: $80 for the full four-week session.
Supplies: Classroom supplies are provided, or we will have kits available for purchase.
