Adirondack Chair Frustration
Are you still trying to get out of your Adirondack chair you got into last night? Well you're not alone! These summer chairs have been touted for years as "the" summer patio staple. Comfort is not one of the descriptions most folks would use. These chairs were initially constructed to be used on sloped hillsides and rugged terrain where they actually aided the user to emerge effortlessly. If you are using them on a flat surface they can be challenging. However, manufacturers have gotten wise and now make a more user friendly model with higher back legs...look for post season sales now!

Window Softening
Want to soften the look of your tall window casings but don't want to invest in pricy full draperies? Think "panels"! Choose a colorful pop print and invest in single full fabric panels hung on either side of your window bank. If you don't plan on closing the drapes, why pay for full coverage? Make sure to hang then high close to either the crown molding or ceiling to add height and that "WOW" factor.
If you don't sew, just buy single panel ready-made drapes in the height you need and either hang from a full rod or just short rods with decorative finials.

Peel and stick makes it so easy for first timers and weekend remodelers! Choosing a busy pattern like the one attached makes matching patterns a breeze and tends to make hiding goofs a bit easier! Stretch your creative wings and start with a small room, it will all be fine and if it isn't, just peel it off! I did this wall myself and believe me, I peeled and shifted many times!

Formula For Visually Enlarging Rooms...
Here are some tried and true tips:
*Keep your wall color light & ceilings flat white when possible
*Paint your trim & mill work bright white in a satin finish
*Stay away from oversized furnishings (sectionals; bulky sofas)
*Limit decor items to a few good pieces
*If you have a hard surface floor, add an area just big enough to anchor the seating pieces. Don't oversize this component!
*Add low lighting options when possible (table/floor lamps)
*Keep window paths clear to allow maximum natural lighting
