In my 13 yrs working at KRS I’ve never seen a “Red Diamond” Calcite. Beautiful piece, with depth and interesting inclusions no matter which way it’s viewed. UV reactive!

**Attention** Shocking bone found in Georgetown, Texas!

Fascinating, to see this vertebrae with multiple stages of alteration present. The outer bone showed red fluorescent, low-magnesium calcite, with a green phosphorescence as the next stage of alteration (uranium concentrates). Synchronous to the bone’s alteration, a influx Ca rich fluids caused calcite forming at the core of the botryoidal quartz Druze. The last stage of alteration is represented by the tips of the Druze that lack fluorescence, but the core was a red matching the outer bone.

It feels the prominent Glen Rose formation outcrops in Georgetown.
