As we close out March, we wanted to leave you with a mouthwatering photo of chicken and sausage Wantsumeaux Gumbeaux. This was made in 45 minutes and we used store bought rotisserie chicken and store brand smoked sausage. It was easier to make than fixing a box of macaroni & cheese and MUCH tastier results too.

Our Mardi Gras Special ends on March 31 and won't be around until 2026 so the clock is ticking. Our Story

Susan Armand started making gumbo at home after she married her cajun husband, Ken. After many parties at home, she gathered up her team of close friends and family and started entering gumbo competitions, which were few and far between. The team traveled from their home in Houston, Texas to many place to compete including New Iberia and Patterson Louisiana, League City to Fredericksburg to Medina Lake, Texas and many towns in between. From the beginning of competing in gumbo cook-offs, the team either won or placed every time they entered, except the first World Championship and they made it to the final round.

The team was invited to compete in the World Championship in New Iberia twice. The first time, they made it to the final round of competition, but did not place in the top. The second time they entered, they received 3rd place in the Seafood category, and walked away with the honor of being the first Texans to ever place in the World Championship.

After a 10 year hiatus from competition, the team is readjusting and getting new members and you will find Wantsumeaux Gumbeaux showing up at competitions again in 2020.
