Fall is arriving, and the patio at Pavón is starting to look like a great location as the heat eases up. Come find out for yourself, or stay inside if you prefer. Whatever you are making, bring it along. No need to RSVP, just pull up a chair. Full coffee bar, b**r, w**e, and cocktails, with happy hour until 7pm. 3000+ skeins, collected over decades: high end, indie dyed, sourced from every corner of the globe, all in perfect condition thanks to a museum grade pest protocol before it ever reaches you.

Every skein sold goes toward the college fund of Buffie’s only nephew, Jakob, a future astrophysicist.

This Friday evening, the estate of Buffie Hollis is hosting a private yarn sale from 5-8pm.

Inspired by the yarn, I cast on this cardigan last weekend and have been unable to put the project down.

3000+ skeins, collected over decades: high end, indie dyed, sourced from every corner of the globe.

Every skein has been through a museum grade pest protocol before it reaches you, so what you take home is in perfect condition.

Proceeds go toward the college fund of Buffie’s only nephew, Jakob, a future astrophysicist.

Here is your first look, and first chance to shop, the Buffie Hollis Yarn Estate. Friday evening’s event is a private view and sale, 5-8pm, with the full collection laid out to touch, squish, and take home at its best selection before the sale opens more widely.

Every skein sold goes toward sending Jakob, Buffie’s nephew and a future astrophysicist, to college. It’s a lovely way to spend an evening and an even lovelier way to put beautiful yarn to good use.

Learn to Crochet sells out fast, but the next spots are open. Spend an afternoon learning the basics with tea and scones in a relaxed, small group setting. One student put it well: “I’m so grateful for your time, your tea and scones, your guidance in the new stitches learned.” Upcoming sessions are Saturday, October 24 and Saturday, November 21, 1-4pm, Houston Heights. $85 plus $15 materials.
