We had lovely plans for crepes and greenhouse wandering this morning for my Mother’s Day treat; instead, one of our girls woke up horribly sick and we’ve spent the morning cleaning up all manner of bodily fluids and trying to provide comfort where we can. She has been crying about “ruining Mother’s Day”, and I teared up while reassuring her that any day I spend with her and her sisters is the best type of day. That conversation completely recentered me on what actually matters. It sums up so much of motherhood to me— constantly adjusting and remaking plans, managing my own frustrations and disappointment to show up fully for a little person who needs me. It’s never easy but it’s always good. I hope you have a lovely weekend and find joy in whatever circumstance you land in. 💙
