This year I’ll be putting a little extra effort into decorating for Thanksgiving since we won’t be traveling to see family as we usually do. And since I have never before cooked Thanksgiving dinner, we are ordering from a local restaurant. First big macrame project, done! I haven’t yet trimmed the strands, but I think it was a success (swipe to see a detail). After closing my vintage decor shop in January I’ve been restless for a creative outlet. Macrame gives me something to look forward to and distracts my mind from what’s going on in the world. It helps me to meditate, feel challenged and productive all at once. And i love that I can do this alongside my daughter as she knots away making friendship bracelets. 💕 What have you been doing to keep sane during shut down? I’m usually pretty observant so I must be really preoccupied because I didn’t realize until now that I still have out winter and Easter decor! Can you spot it? With the current situation, it takes a lot of focus to keep oneself and one’s family feeling safe, secure and emotionally ok. But we’re doing it! Not perfectly - there are ups and downs all of the time - but we haven’t crumbled. In fact, our relationships with one another have been strengthened. So if it’s the same for you, let’s forgive ourselves for the things that aren’t getting done and give ourselves a big pat on the back for surviving each day because that is quite an achievement!! ☀️

We had a meeting with the kids to discuss how we want to observe Easter this year, which is new for us. Both kids are too old for the Easter Bunny, although there will still be an egg hunt (with a special request for $ instead of jelly beans! 😄). We’ll watch our church service online as well as the Andrea Bocelli concert, have FaceTimes with family, some semblance of an Easter dinner... It will be different this year but it will be different for all of us together. We still get to share our hopes, prayers and thankfuls together on Easter Sunday.

On the extrovert-introvert spectrum I certainly fall more on the side of introvert. I replenish my energy by spending time alone with me. I like hanging out with me! 😄 So having the whole family at home 24 hours a day has been trying at times. Deep breathing helps, among other things, and having the scent of fresh hyacinths makes it even better! How about you? How are you restoring your extroverted or introverted soul?
