Our family is predominantly Northern European, with a pretty even blend of Celtic, Saxon, Scandinavian, Frankish, and Norman heritage. Since we are pretty crafty (in several ways--

wink), we decided to craft various wares of yore and bring them to the internet and local festivals. Our crafts are simple, well-made, and affordable. As for our name, Old English wyrd is a verbal noun formed from the verb weorþan, meaning "to come to pass, to become." It is associated with the concept of Fate or Destiny, and it is thought to be derived from a term in Old Norse, urðr, which has a similar meaning, but also a name of one of the Norns, Urðr (anglicized as Urd) and appearing in the name of the holy well Urðarbrunnr in Norse mythology. Have you ever thought of getting married, handfasted, or vows renewed to the sound of bagpipes? My husband and I are both ordained and can officiate! Come to the Payson Scottish Festival 2023, and visit the Wyrd Wares tent for a quickie ceremony ($20). For real or for fun. Just remember, for it to be legally legit, bring a marriage license! ♥️
