I started in college as a fine arts student. My main interest was in woodworking, but the 1st time I sat at a loom, I knew I was a weaver. I built my 1st floor loom at 19 and have never stopped weaving. I cherish the intricate pr
ocess of threading my looms and weaving textiles. To me it is magical! To take one thread at a time, interweave it with hundreds or thousands of other threads, in any pattern, color or texture my mind can see. Once I have drafted my weaving, threaded my loom, wound my bobbins, put on some good ole rock n roll, I am ready to dance. This process is my favorite part. With each throw of the shuttle, my creation grows and comes to life. The rythmn of pushing the treadle, throwing the shuttle, beating the weft is a dance that I embrace and get lost in.
