Fall is the best time to update your window coverings. As the days get shorter, natural light becomes even more precious and scarce. The right window treatments help you maximize every bit of that sun and warmth during the day, and captures the coziness of a cool evening once the sun goes down.

Before choosing a window treatment, I always come back to one question:

What does this room need the window treatment to DO?

Privacy? Block heat? Darken the room? Soften glare? Frame a view? Add texture? Make giant windows feel less…giant? 😂

The prettiest option isn't necessarily the right one if it doesn't solve the problem.

The fun part is finding something that does both.

Never underestimate the impact of a beautiful sheer. 😍

Floor-to-ceiling sheers have a way of completely transforming a space. They soften all the hard architectural lines, filter the light beautifully and add movement, texture and a layer of elegance that you simply don’t get from a bare window.

And when you have windows this tall? Go big. The height and fullness are what create the drama.

These custom sheers bring softness to this modern space without taking away from the architecture — and that gorgeous filtered light might just be our favorite part.

Sheers aren’t an afterthought. Sometimes, they’re the whole moment. ✨

A bedroom should feel like somewhere you actually want to land at the end of the day. 🤍

Window treatments play a bigger role in that than most people realize — controlling morning light and privacy while also adding softness, texture and another layer to the room.

Pretty matters. But pretty that actually does something is even better. 😉

Window treatments aren't just for homes. 😍

These soaring restaurant windows called for something dramatic, but still light enough to let that gorgeous natural light do its thing.

The sheer drapery softens all that glass, adds movement and texture, and makes the entire dining space feel more intimate without closing it in.

And at this scale? They definitely make a statement.

Commercial spaces deserve good window treatments too. 😉

One of my favorite things about custom window treatments is that they don't have to shout to completely change a room.

Sometimes it's simply adding softness, height and a little movement to all those hard architectural lines.

The right drapery can make the windows feel bigger and the entire room feel more finished — without taking over the space. ❤

There’s a reason café-style plantation shutters never really go out of style. ❤

They’re clean, architectural and incredibly functional — but they also become part of the room rather than looking like something that was simply added to the window.

Café-style shutters cover the lower portion of the window, giving you privacy where you need it while still letting natural light pour in from above.

Tilt the louvers for light. Close them when you want privacy. Open the panels when you want the whole view.

Good-looking and useful. We like that around here. 😉

It’s the little details. ✨

The pleat style, fullness, fabric, hardware and even how the drapery attaches to the track all affect the finished look.

This is why custom drapery looks different from curtains pulled out of a package. Every piece is designed to work together — right down to what happens at the top of the panel.

Yes, I get a little obsessed over this stuff. 😂

Texture makes SUCH a difference. 🌿

Natural woven shades are one of my favorite ways to keep a room feeling warm and interesting without adding a lot of color or pattern.

Up close, you can see all the variation in the material. From across the room, it becomes this beautiful subtle layer against white trim and drapery.

Neutral definitely doesn't have to mean boring.

Design Tip Tuesday! Stationary side panels on either side of a window are one of the most elegant design moves you can make. They add height, softness, and a finished, intentional look without ever needing to be drawn closed. Think of them less as a window covering and more as a frame for the view outside. The result is dramatic, beautiful, and surprisingly simple.
