I should be packing for but I’m sitting here drinking coffee and thinking about my intense love for a BISTRO TABLE, especially on a Saturday morning.

And I love to place them in projects! It’s not fun or cozy for a single person or even a couple to sit at a big ole table. You just need a little spot for your coffee or cocktail, computer or snack. Fun fact, I bought this marble table for clients so the parents could hang out nearby while the kids watched morning cartoons. It was such a great find that I bought one for myself and used it as a morning coffee spot in our bedroom. When we were quoted $300 to move it to Santa Fe, I said it’s cool, we will keep it in the studio cottage here in JC. And you know what – that’s where I’m sitting right now!

It has been a crazy full, wonderful week, with new client consults, neighborly dinner parties and a new designer on our team (stay tuned!). And it has occurred to me that I very rarely show my face around here. You can just call me Bonnie (only my mom calls me Bonnie Kaye ❤️).

I thought I would pop in to say hi and remind everyone that are real folks behind this creating these spaces! I’m quite grateful to be on this creative journey of life; one that started as a high school art teacher in Manhattan (shout out ), then as a public art educator for in Philadelphia, then as a professional printmaker and textile designer (under this same name), and now an interior designer/decorator. It’s fun to bundle up all my art training and experiences into this job!

What else do you want to know about me!? Got any questions, send them over!

Don’t get me wrong, I do love retro tile (I’m talking to you who already scrolled to the before!), but this client was ready for something lighter, something more retreat-like for her guest bathroom. I love that we simplified the palette but still made the space interesting with textures, materials, and pattern. And I adore having hanging pendants in a bathroom - so fun!

Big thanks to the team for not cursing my name (at least not too badly) for the tile work. Shout out to for the beautiful vanity.

I recently went to 3 (THREE!) surprise parties in one week. I was reminded how we all love surprises and surprising. And I love finding ways to do this in my own house, even if it’s just a delight for my own eyes. If there is a queen mother for this it’s and I highly recommend her book Joyful if you dig finding joyful moments in your spaces.

So here’s a little treat in my own house, spied in our dining room. Yes, it’s a working phone. And yes, I collect stationary from my favorite boutique hotels. You don’t?!

We pulled back into Johnson City two weeks ago, and I hit the ground running with client renovations and redecorating. 🌪️

It was a fabulous 5-week road trip and I’m always stunned by the simplicity of life on the road, compared to our day-to-day life. If there’s anything I bring back to my own home, and to the homes of my clients - it’s how can we make our spaces serve us to keep our lives bountiful yet simple.

Like our camp living room?! 😊 Damn, I miss it!

Thanks for all the love this week with the painting of our foyer! Sandbank by SW for the dusty, pink win!!

Lately, I’ve been trying to focus on the little things at home. Mostly repairs (I don’t think home maintenance gets enough face time.) and some smaller more inexpensive projects (like painting the foyer) that give a big bang for the buck. You certainly don’t have to redesign a whole room to get some major impact.

So now I get to enjoy the weekend with company knowing that the hole in my kitchen is patched, that I’ve added a splash of color to my entrance, and that *most* of the dust bunnies are in the vacuum.

Cheers and happy Friday!

Personal Note ❤️

Twenty years ago today in the wee hours of the morning, my then boyfriend knocked on my apartment door and asked me to marry him. He had just hopped a flight from New York where he was in grad school. No photos from that day - you just had to hold more moments in your heart back then. We were crazy in love, crazy young and just plain crazy.

Little did I know how saying yes would change the trajectory of my entire life.

Here’s to love and here’s to always being just a little bit crazy. Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone! ❤️
