- duck in a red wine reduction sauce 🍷

When I unboxed the olive oils and balsamic vinegars I was gifted, I was so torn on which to use first and what to do with it! Thankfully, my friend Tori had the perfect idea - seared duck breast in a red wine reduction sauce (ft. the West Michigan Blueberry Balsamic Vinegar).

I’m also thankful we had a freezer full of duck my husband harvested! It was the perfect first meal to cook in the brand new skillet Alec got me 🙌🏼

This meal is rich, comforting, & feels fancier than it actually is. It’d also be delicious served alongside wild rice!

- Stage, Too is such a hidden gem in !

We got to go for a ribbon cutting the other day so they could show off the renovations that have taken place over the past year (s/o my friend Mg Meyering for the work he put into it!) as well as unveil the plays for the ‘26-‘27 season.

What you might not know is that Stage, Too is open Fridays and Saturdays from 6-10! They have everything from live music & karaoke nights to workshops & special events. PLUS ‼️ it’s part of the Entertainment District & has a full bar inside (so if you’re catching a show at The Forum on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday, you can grab a drink to bring with you into The Forum)

Also, two of the plays slated for this upcoming FOA season will take place in Stage, Too for a more intimate theatre setting 🎭

- sheet pan chicken & brussels sprouts 🌱🍗

Talk about an easy dinner! The chicken and brussels sprouts cooked simultaneously in the oven while I made a sweet & spicy sauce to drizzle on top. I will note: these brussels were itty bitty - so if you have bigger ones, they may need a bit longer in the oven!

Kick up the heat by adding more chili crisp to the marinade, sauce, or directly on top of the chicken! 🔥

- breakfast puff pastry 🥐🥚🧀

Save this for a slow weekend morning & then enjoy them the rest of the week!

Y’all remember Toaster Streudels? I loved them. On the sweet ones, my dad would take the icing packet and draw us little scenes on the top when they came out of the toaster 😄 but oh boy, when I found out they had savory ones, too!? I am much more a savory than sweet gal, and I was obsessed.

Anyway, this is a homemade version of that using puff pastries! It’s not a super fast breakfast, so I recommend making them on a slow weekend morning - then reheating in a toaster oven later on in the week!
